Price diff in insurance for a G4 could be due to these factors,

1. 2nd or 3rd party?

2. age of bike

3. age of rider

4. riding experience

5. any claims b4

6. loading for 1st time bike insured with the company under the rider

7. NCD

8. loyalty discount (NTUC)

When u insure the bike in the 1st yr under ur name, u have a slight loading.

hopes these info helps..

tank slap is when u travel high speed, front lose control, handle bars tend to left right left right, slapping the tank, hence tank slap term is given.

it happens when:

1. Front wheel is worn off, not in good service condition.

2. Rear suspension phark up. at such weight concentration transfer to front fork, more den wat it can take.

cmon shoot me if im wrong.

sorry to just step in like this, i was just browsing this thread to know more about the gsxr4, and saw this.

recently one of the hornet guys got a tankslapper, but coz he was wearing proper clothes he wasn't injured seriously (read this in one of the safety gear threads). there was some explanation of what a tankslapper was there.

i think there was a link to this:

http://www.joe250.com/motorcycles/ride/tankslapper.htm

i think it's good to read about it, because there're certain ways to react to tankslappers which might help to stop it, the info is in the link too. (part of being ready for one is to have your arms bent, and not "locked", so that if there's a tankslapper you won't be fighting against it but letting it die away by itself.. just saying coz i always see riders riding with arms straightened fully.. it's not safe if riding hard!)

Sorie for interruption, anyone know where to get tank pad with suzuki logo in it??...Think the most common one is from keiti rite....How much does it cost?? Anywher can get cheap ones???  :help:

yahoo auctions

15 each for a keiti with designs 1... else u can go to Lim Ah Boy to get carbon fibre 1. either m fizz or progrip 1. 10 - 15 each.. but hey where to look for gas cap sticker for g4? Prefer carbon fibre look one, instead of keiti. I'd been looking high and low for it but no avail.

I suppose the tank pad is the circle part of the sticker ard the gas hole?

shouldn't they be selling the whole set of sticker for the gas cap?

not easy to find wor, can find but the holes dun match...

Where to get pictures one then?

Think I'm the oldest g4 rider here, 31 y/o, pay $90 for NTUC 3rd party insurance, 10% discount (35th anniversary for NTUC) and 20%NCD.

NTUC quote is much cheaper than Mitsui @ $140++ after 20%NCD .

My G4 ran till reserve at 245km, tire pressure front 29psi rear 36psi. approx travelling speed 90-110km/h. Approx 19.6km/l.

My previous bandit ran till 300++km till reserve approx 25km/l after change jet needles.
