i'm not sure whether u can get it at regina or not. as long the rubber cap fits in and able to prevent water from sipping in. think u can try to source for 2nd hand at planet or brand new ones @ ks motor.

come to think of it everytime they change the spark plugs for me i also never notice them removing the caps...lol

but from experience im sure its there, since now no more problems in the rain

btw does anyone have any idea how much does it costs to adjust the fuel consumption? from my understanding they have to change the jet needle and perhaps tune the carburettor. my guesstimate is around 100+

carb tuning is around 80-100

There is no such thing as tune the consumption actually, you can only tune rich or lean. A rich setting = higher consumption and may have some loss in power if too rich.

A lean setting = more power, lower consumption but may damage your engine if too learn.

carb servicing(wash + tuning) cost $80 @ reputable shops like bikeworkz, k&t or planet. other charges like changing carb seals, changing of jet needles and flat are additional if if required to change. I would recommend bike tuning by the mech ah beng from bikeworkz.

Thumbs up.. I'm am a happy customer since. Haha

The caps have to be there for your spark plug cable to be able to fire up the spark plugs. If the caps are not there there is no way you can start your bike properly unless the mech tape the spark plug cable to your spark plugs which again would be an amazing feat since he would need to screw in the spark plug den tape it or tape it 1st then by some amazing way screw in the plug with a tool unknown to me.....

Relax. The plugs caps are there...... they are either in red or black. If you look at the side of your engine, from the right side its easier to see. Just below the petrol tank in front of the carb you will see an indentation. You will be able to see 2 rubbe parts sticking out with thick cables going to the front of the bike. Those are the plug caps and cable. Its bigger at the bottom like a round plate and thinner on top. You can't miss it.

If you think that water is getting into the engine then your caps are probably worn out. Give them a check. But if they are fouling not because of the rain then i suggest you get your bike's carb cleaned and re-sync.

It all depends on what exactly is the problem with the bike. Its been raining these few days so it'll be hard to differentiate between plug fouling and water getting into the engine. Frankly, i've never had the problem of water getting in the engine but i do know what it feels like if your plug has fouled.

If in case you do not know how to test if your plug has fouled, here's how.

Grab a bottle of water, cloth in the morn before you go to your bike. Using the cloth wet the headers. Start the bike and throttle the bike. Observe the headers to see if any of the headers are not evaporating the water as fast as the other. Its a pretty big difference when the plug is fouled. Which ever header that does not evapourate the water as fast as the others will correspond to the plug that is fouled.

Symptoms of a fouled plug would be a loss in acceleration, chopper sounding exhaust. Retarded response to the throttle. Jerky movement when going as half clutch at slow speeds as if the bike is dying off(actually the bike will die off if there is not enuff control....)

Also, if you problem really happens to be a fouled plug, doing that occasionally wun do much harm but running with a fouled plug for long is never a gd idea. You're straining the engine by letting one less piston run. So its always good to change the plug when it has fouled as soon as possible.

Just called ah chong because i didnt know if the bike is safe to ride, once i told him the problems he just said. Ni de lian Huai le. (your chain is gone) I WAS SO F*****g HAPPY! The chain/sprokets had been one of the main things i wanted to change so no major financial crisis for me in the next few months! :cheer:

Btw, the plug caps look a little like condoms, very insignificant thingies but can cause a big headache, very common thing among older bikes as the rubber hardens/cracks. Best to change it at your next servicing if you havent. Very cheap preventive measure.
