hi bros,

thinking of getting a tankbag. any sugg? saw HKL's givi at $65, looks not bad on the web.

also, for coolant right, is it recommended to mix 500ml with 500ml of distill water (meaning 1 for 1)? or 500ml coolant, 1litre distill also can?

:thumb: yeah u r right. If u know how to DIY, definitely can save a lot of doughs. anyway coolaide is highly recommended... temp hardly overheat. Has been using for 1 1/2 yrs(diy flushing every 1/2 yr), very satisfied with the product and currently still have leftovers which i'd shared with old baby gixxers here previously.

Actually can used up to more than 4 bikes. Premix ratio of 15ml solution to 1L of distilled water, hmmz...

Coolant capacity is 3L so i guess more than 4. it's really worthy if u r sharing among a few frenz.

bros ask you all,

i just topped up my rear coolant area, is there also a "tube" to flow out the excess if i over-top it? (like our fuel tanks like that, fill the petrol over the rim then will flow out thru the tube below).

cos i fill it up to the top, then it (coolant) went down, so i top up again, then the level drop again (after a few times, until i finish my bottle of 1L battery water and 500ml coolant). then i go to the other side of the bike to see....what lau.... on the floor all coolant.............. it flow out near the center of the bike....... like very far away from the rear reservior leh......

please advice me....... thanks bros...

yes, no issue. there is a overflow tube for excess coolant drainage.

:) thanks bro, but hor, now my coolant is like not balanced...... 500ml coolant to 1000ml battery water.... :giddy: any issue?

btw.... how does the rear coolant system works? hear from a shop that, no need that one also no problem.....

You have to check according to the premixed coolant instruction.

For a rough guide, Maxima coolaide require premix ratio of 15ml to 1L or distilled water.

For the latter, the rear coolant bottle is not a coolant system. It's juz a reservior, which top up the coolant in the main cooling system when the coolant level drops.

Anyway, one point i'm not too sure is that will the coolant level in the main system drop significently? due to evaporation or watever.. I'm using premixed solution.

Cooling performance will be affected if there are insufficient coolant level, air/bubbles caused by improper flushing, rust, etc.

oh................. i not using the maxima one.... just using a cheapo one. cos the main one ah chong change for me the $5 one, so the back one i also go and buy the same one from him.

maybe 6mths later then use maxima.

just read the bottle (tropicool) just now...... not much instructions on how to dilute.... just says that "if radiator capacity is more than 10L, use 2 bots of Tropicool (each bot is 500ml)....."

soooooooooooooooooo................ hope everything is fine............. "cross my fingers"

so simply if u do up on the math,

premix ratio is 5L of distilled water to 500ml of the solution

which makes 1L distilled water per 100ml solution =)

g4 coolant capacity is roughly 3L..

your mixture of a bottle of 1L battery water and 500ml coolant :giddy:

tt's too concentrated and wasting...

Posted

aiay.......... now also too late..... hahaha. lucky only $5.

but ah chong also like that do to my main coolant radiator leh. he pour 1 bot coolant (500ml in) then top up with water till maximum. our raditor is how many litres ah? if its only 2L (radiator), then also quite concentrated hor?

for ur info i think maxima coolant is not 15ml to 1 L , is 30ml to 1L.

rain or shine i still go out, really cbf with taking public transport anymore.

Btw, bro if you coolant all leak out like that, maybe the rubber tube aint connected properly, There is a rubber tubing under your rear fairing left side, it connects to the bottom of the bottle, i dont know where the other end leads to, you try and see if both ends are connected.

Things done so far:

Brand new rear suspension, new rubbers in carbs, serviced carbs, double bubble windscreen, voltmeter, Pilot Sport tyres, Did o ring + VAZ sprokets, front brake pump, gaskets + waterpump oil seal, Maxima CoolAid, 2nd hand rear hugger, 2nd hand front brake disc, Fizz Power brake pads front and back, 2nd hand front and back rims, Yusa battery, Reconditioned 2nd hand carbs by Planet, Front sticker number plate, front wheel bearings, new clutch plates, fortuna paintwork sponsored by spastic driver, Keitin tank pad.

hi bro, thanks....

i think not all leaked out lah, just the excess (i hope).

yah i saw 2 tubes, one on top of the reservior, the other at the bottom. it leaked out more towards the front, under the oil tank. I hope its the excess coolant coming out from the long rubber tube (draniage of excess)

anyone going to fix Hel Brake Hose? let me know, i also thinking of going to fix it. more go, better discount?
