ie" 5-6 ide drives plugin to 1 pci card

If i am not wrong, IDE controllers do come very cheap. I have never personally used one before but i suspect that installation of it will be very difficult. I have bad experiences with PCI slots and till now i try to never use them, especially if it involves a creative sound card.

5-6 drives on one controller? Would almost be definitely RAID.... 3-4 can, look for a Promise Ultra 100 TX2 or something like it. I've had mine for donkeys years, and it's still working no problem!

 

Looking @ Promise's Website, Corbell's reseller, might be able to hook you up w/ the newer Ultra133? Though, do read up first, some compatiblity issues, iirc.
