Honda ESI issue

Hi guys

 

I need some advice on esi

I dont know how many ppl exp this before?

 

1)When i accelerate my car too fast .

I always smell burning smell , dont know from the enjine or from the exhaust.

 

2)When i drag my car , i can see alot of smoke coming out from the back.

 

some one can advice on this 2 issue?

what do you mean by too fast?

 

if u bring ur car for a top speed drive at lim chu kang, you will experience burning smell after it.

 

nonetheless, check your engine oil level periodically. otherwise, with the engine on, go behind your exhaust and smell it if it's burining

if you are topping up your engine oil every 3 days, that's not a good sign

 

i used to check my engine oil level, coz it was dropping everyday. Then i went to a workshop and change sone oil seal. Now, my EO has not been giving me problem since.

 

as for the burning smell at 90-120km/h speed, i'm unable to help u as i do not have this problem here.

But do u have the problem that ur car have some loop hole, cause can smell some thing from inside...

the other is when i loot 160km/h on jb roads. other than that, no funny smell for me.

 

how much? can't remember le. oil seal is not expensive. should be less than $100 + workmanship

Of cause i can smell fart inside some time haha..

 

No la, i think is ESI to old le, maybe too many loop hole, so maybe when garbage car in front of me sure smell it.Thats what i mean...

another thing

 

check ur air con settings. is it allowing air from the outside to cool your car or are you using internal air for own cooling purposes?

Well.. seems like something is being burned or converted for a smell to be emitted, can't possibly be some motorist keep farting in front of you

buddy is obvious inside wear and tear liao, oil seal, piston, foul plugs, oil plug, gasket anything could be possible. if u have a oil temp/pressure meter it should be rocketing high with abnormal pressure.

 

For during harsh session of driving, foul smell contain within the car may came from clutch, tires etc.. but most common is still clutch smell. Best way is still open the window and off ur aircon unless u really wan to tahan the smell with the aircon on

 

Suggestion: Park the car overnight at a spot, during morning (do not start veh) do a push up position and see whether the ground got any EO, take a torch light shine to the oil pan area and touch whether is there any oil. If totally no oil on pan/ground/surronding parts. Yes internal most likely has wear and tear. So further enhance your findings, check ur spark plugs.

normally if u do that, there will b burning smell coming out... and thats no gd cos it will spoil de compressor...

u know what,your eo is leaking so when u drag the temp raise up n burn ur eo..confirm white smoke come out of ur exhaust..u drive this type of car,confirm alot prob wan..what u expect 4 a 20 yr old car..

my car now left alignment problem (need a new camber kit) and some bird making noise to settle then perfect already

 

i've owned my esi for 1 year. things i've changed

 

1) drive shaft

2) tie rod (front)

3) 2 x engine mounting

4) 2 x front brake rotors and brake pads

5) power window problem

6) front brake line

7) reverse sensor

8) parking brake cable

9) original cabin light

10) oil seal

11) rubber tube for power steering

12) central locking for passenger doesn't work

13) new set of compoment speakers

 

it's like almost every month i visit the workshop i'm going crazy
