I'm not really sure, now the problem is more to carburetion (but not really sure)... once the tacho hit 5000 to 6500 rpm the carb is like unable to supply sufficient petrol or the motor valve will not activate and consumption of petrol is very, very, very high!! and the engine sound more like an MBX rather than a NSR... I'm can't send to other shops coz this shop bear the cost but it seems that they are not that knowledgeable in troubleshooting PGM IV. You guys have any idea whats the problem??

Not sure your valve working or not. for yamaha bike usually when the engine is on, valve movement sound can be heard.

if no sound then most likely valve problem.

 

otherwise, if you suspect carb fuel problem, maybe can go to a quiet place and try running your bike at that rpm for a few mins then off the emergency stop switch, hold clutch and stop the bike slowly. remove the plug to see what the plug looks like. if black and wet then your carb problem. if white then either you pipe not original or some where around your engine leak air.

 

At 5k what is the position of your throttle? more or less than half throttle?

 

anyway i think you change mech. either you want to waste time or you want to waste money. you have to choose.

 

try alexandra, Lim ban huat. maybe they can help you. not the best but honest.

Smokey, thanx for ay advise. Will send it there but for now i still have to send back to the previous shop coz they bear the cost for the repairs, so far CDI, Motor Valve, crankshaft oil seal changed but i'm not sure about the carb..

hi everyone, i am not a rider but is currently interested and also looking for some information on nsr250 and my friend introduced this site to me

any soon,all the pgm will extinct..coe 1k who wana renew siaz...but i noe there will be a onli pgm next time.. FR77.. :cheer:

i used to ride a pgm4 aslo...

it a rare bike,(japan stop making it)it spare part aslo hard to get

better dont fall down or engine got promble if not headace liao

wah, these few days hard to get a smooth connection here, i wonder if it's just me?

 

by the way, what's the total estimated number of pgm riders in singapore? according to yearly productions, 1993 and earlier pgms should be scrap already ya?

this few days the forum undergoing maintainence...anyway,pgm is slowly becoming extinct..FQ plate was the last known batch of pgm to otr other than FR77 of cos...
