The MS Outlook on my notebook can be setup with a hotmail account? Can someone list the steps on the tools setup for me?

You won't get it to work that way.

When that version of Outlook appeared, it was during the tiem when M$ offered Hotmail with a free capability to access via Outlook.

Then sometime in 2003-2004, they took it out and only allowed it if you had a paid subscription to Hotmail.

Now, with the appearance of Gmail and its obvious capability with both POP and IMAP on Outlook, Hotmail did a reversal and has now allowed Hotmail to be used on Outlook for free again.

But you need to download a plugin:

Must warn you that it is very similar to a POP setup and thus, what emails you delete from Outlook, will still remain in Hotmail. That means regular housekeeping in Hotmail is still required....

OIC, thanks WildCard. Will try POP method.

Give it a go.

Last I tried, didn't remove nuts from Hotmail Inbox.

But I might be wrong.

I was once a user of Hotmail on Outlook. Unlike IMAP email, Hotmail operated on the HTTP email protocol - these kinds of email protocols usually don't have delete synchronization. I had to manually login to Hotmail using my web browser and hand-delete the messages.

EDIT: Tried to add my Hotmail account using Outlook 2007, it appears that it supports Hotmail too. Just that it's not listed and you have to go through several screens to add your account.
