Is my P5N-E SLI mobo dying?

Hi guys!

 

I'm currently having problems with my P5N-E SLI mobo. Orginally, my graphics card has random purple and green vertical lines. I got that solved by asking the dealer to re-solder the GPU to the card again.

 

Front and rear fans not working

But after it happened, i realised a few days later that my rear exhaust fan is not working, nor is my front intake fan. My case is the Coolermaster Centurion 5 came with those fans. But upon further diagnostics, i came to realise that the fans actually work because i plugged in the rear exhaust fan to the CPU fan plug.

 

Integrated sound card makes a crackling noise

I've also noticed that my speakers have a "crackling" sound. I thought it was my speakers because i'ts rather old. So i just ignored it and used the front audio jacks. I've only realised something was wrong today when i plugged n my headphones to the rear jack and lo and behold, the crackling sound is present as well.

 

Difficulty booting PC up

While trying to fix up everything and plug in back my PC, i had to reseat the RAM Modules, video card and even changed video cards! I was doing this for almost 20 mins before my PC could even boot up. I got beeps like a "long solid beep" and "1 long beep, 3 shorts beeps". But most of the time, it was " silent with no beeps but the HDD light tuned on(solid) and off every 3 seconds. My fingers are also hurting real bad as i've realised ever since i got this mobo that the RAM modules are really tough to install. Not like when i had my K7s and 478s.

 

NVIDIA Control Panel

In NVIDIA Control Panel, my mobo's venfor, version and model is not reported. In device settings, my "cooling" and "voltages" option is diasbled. In other words, i can't click or change anything!

 

What do you guys think is wrong with my rig? My mobo is dying? My PSU is not supplying enough power? But changing to a really lousy card, my fans were still not working and i had problems booting the PC up. Help me please!

What gfx card u using? Why would you ask the dealer to solder the GPU chip back onto the card?????

 

Fan problem sounds like a non working plug, or just temperature settings? Do you get them to plug onto the mobo under FAN1/FAN2/FAN3? Try using adapter that plugs to the PSU instead.

 

Sound jack crackling sound can be due to degraded plugs, or dirty connections. Try uninstalling and reinstalling (with a reboot inbetween) the sound drivers.

 

Hard to boot up, suggest to strip everything, clean the connections and reinstall everything altogether. Especially the ram and gfx connector surface. Reseat your cpu fan as well.

sounds like an entire dying PC. likely due to a poor quality Power supply.

Haha. My PSU wasnt faulty and it was rather expensive. Corsair HX520W Modular. Love this PSU.

 

Anyway, update for you guys. I went to sim lim, ask them to change my mobo for me(i have a bad back), old mobo sent for RMA. And the guy just called me, it would be back this FRIDAY. They gave me a NEW ONE! YAY me! Feel like building another rig. Haha.

Nothing is new.. especially in Computer PCB board stuff.

How things work..

 

i produce 50 items, i only got 30 on standby.

If anything happen .. i recycle your parts with others.

 

else how to earn your money. If everything produce new.. company no money liao. =]

 

they got the small claus at every warranty agreement.

Item might be refurbish.

 

So if u are the lucky 30, u might get to receive the new one. else..

if u have to wait, high chance of refurbish.

Well, the board looks really new.

 

Anyway, lets say its refurbished, that means it was like a spoilt board then they go and repair? Or was it already working, but it was just old.

refurbished is taking a spoilt item, locate the spoil part, replace with existing similar part.

They will of course, file down the board, spray chemical.

 

Anyway.. its still good as brand new, if the warranty still goes a long way.

This is why u can see, company throwing 3yrs warranty

especially TV console.
