I bought from kokheng78 for 13k with touring windscreen, 2 side boxes, side box bracket and top box bracket and baseplate, bellypan and mini side fairings. His bike got lotsa accessories, good for touring. hehe

Woow....its quite a good deal with all those accessories, accessories alone cost i think close to $1000++ if buy brand new, and also the time waste in waiting for the parts to arrive(usually promise 1 to 2 months) after placing a deposit at those bl**dy bike shops which will always arrive only after :nono: 3 to 5 months. :shades: Anybody agree with me on this point? :shades:

Oh yuh, regarding touring on this bike. Its quite high fuel consumption.

On local ride I can do about 17-18km/litre, but for touring I can only do about 12km/litre. Average speed about 180-200km/h. It might do better if the average speed is lower.

But with the touring windscreen, I don't even need to hunch my back when doing 200-230km/h. Which is very comfortable.

On 6th gear the bike is still powerful for pulls to overtake, very impressive. Mid range is simply awesome..

Tried to hit top speed but about 250km/h its virtually crawling, but hey its not a supersport/hypersports so cannot expect it to hit 300km/h, 250km/h is already very fast for the fazer on my own opinion.

For corners, its stock foot pegs are pretty low, so its not really advisable to corner real low with stock pegs if you're interested for a track day.

The stock end can is pretty quiet, its good if there's extra dough for a aftermarket to boost the sound and make the bike fiercer overall :D

I thing I dislike is the starting of this bike. Its unlike Super4s where you press the ignition, it cranks for about 1-2 seconds and the engine roars into life. The fazer needs more than 3 seconds of cranks with a twist of the trottle before it rises from the dead.

Anyone who has a Fazer in mind, I would dare to say you're making the right choice. :D :D

Mmmmm.. All these I've been experiencing hehehe... also.. Clutch cable lifespan also kinda short if u ride the bike hard a lot. hehehe.

enjoy! :cheer:

We must ADJUST to an Ever changing Road...while holding onto unchanging principles....

In a nutshell:

it must be the Fazer because.....

You always get there first.

You don't talk much about ur bike, you WILL always say "let's hit the road to find out n cut those thrash talkin of yours..."

You fancy your mate's bike more than you fancy his wife....

Cheers

Just went for refuel, mileage did was 224miles, convert to km is about 360km. Pump in about 18+ litres, so worked out to about 19+km/litre. Average speed is 90km/h+. Petrol used is ESSO 8000?(purple pump) from Gelang Patah.

Fazer 1000 becomes your best friend out there on the road...all the power you'll need, all the brakes you could ask for and enough chassis to keep the whole plot in the right direction....as fun as it is plain....and YES..it is very plain...

Best engine and R1 sourced brakes: no surprise tat tis is a darn quick bike....on the track..it suffers from early touch down, wif the end-can makin right-handers tricky...must agree with u the pegs do pose a bit of a problem....i reckon try takin the pins off the pegs it might help....learn to love the weave and you'll be very quick....fast in fast out...

Currently my fork is at a soft setting, i'll experience very minor slaps when I go over small humps at about 80km/h and above. like those when LTA dig up some parts of the road and fill it back but still have abit of hump.

I have no intention yet to change the setting to a stiffer one as I'm pretty comfortable while cruising with the current setting.

So question, will stiffening the setting eliminate the minor slaps of the handlebar as of above situation?

Anyone here setup a steering damper on theirs? Any reviews?

Lastly, any lobangs for 2nd hand hugger? :D

I've tried two kind of screens on my bike. One is a Motoplastic double-bubble(S$80) screen from the shop selling Arai helmets and the other is a MRA flip-up(touring)(S$110) screen from Motoworld. The double-bubble screen has a better wind protection than the other screen IMHO. The flip-up does cause the bike to wobble at high speed.

Most accessories can be found at BikeTec21 or Motoworld or you can try buying them over the net from overseas.

Ride fast but safe.

Has anyone or know of any anyone who fixed the Givi top case & side cases on their Fazer 1000? Please refer to image below.

http://www.givi.it/perlatuamoto/photos/328_campo_foto_6.jpg

Please note that I'm considering using the top case model E52 & side cases model E41. Follow the undermentioned link if you need more info on the cases. I have seen at least 2 bikes with the exact same side case racks but the side cases was not fixed on. Only top case was used. Why? :?

GIVI

My question is, will the side cases get in the way of the exhaust &/or pillion? What other problem does it pose (other than filtering, parking & etc.)? Lastly, how much will everything cost roughly (racks as well as cases)? Get from LAB or Chiap Lee?

Thank you for time & contributions. ;)

I have the rack but I use one of my side box as a topbox during weekdays where I have to go to work using the conjested expressway.

Sometimes when I need to carry more stuffs then I put on the 2 sideboxes.

It will not cause obstruction to the exhaust, just that the pillion may find it abit difficult to mount and dismount the bike.

Parking will tend to take up more space, need to find a place with ample space to park your bike with the 2 sideboxes. Filtering have to be very vigilant and defensive, it's not easy to squeeze with the 2 side boxes.

Price I dunno cos I bought the bike it came with the rack, bracket and boxes.

Hello guys, I'm looking for some original accessories for the Fazer 1000 & I assume the only place to get them is from Hong Leong, right? :? Anyway, I've called them to get a quotation on some of the accessories & below is what I've got.

Rear hugger - S$590

Engine guard - S$245

Touring screen - S$230

The prices are ludicrous, ain't it? This does not include installation yet! :faint: Okay, okay, I know that aftermarket brands will be cheaper but I insist on original accessories at the moment. So does anyone know where else can I procure these items at a lower &/or reasonable price? Maybe self-import or any parallel importer can do it for me or etc.

Thank you for you time! ;)
