Hello, are you there......

I am riding a VFR 02 Model and a FZS1000 at the same time. I tend to compare the 2 bike and I found out that the FZS1000 engine is very powerful but the suspension and chasis does not goes with the engine at all. I still prefer the VFR more than the FZS1000.

Hmm, can you share with us what you mean by does not go with the engine? I'm considering the very two bikes you have for the future (you're one rich and lucky chap!), so would like to know more abt them......... :D

The FZS1000 suspensions is too soft for this engine and the chasis and wind protect is very poor the this kind of performance. if you compare both the VFR and FZS at high speed crusing and handling, the VFR win the FZS.

but thou the VFR is a sport bike whereas Fazer1 is a naked road bike... of course naked road bike tend to resist air poorer than sport fairing bike....

as for the suspension i agree Fazer 1000 is louser cos i try to ride one before... the 600 is enough if u never go touring...

btw u guys know when the Fi model of fazer coming out???

I'm turning 25. :giddy:

Hmmm someone asked about Belly Pan? er... i think its best and cheaper to import from Australiai heard. If you got friends in the airlines can ask them to help to buy.

I will be OTR on SAT.... Should meet up one of these days.. ?

Whats the RUN-IN like? After first 800km service?

if the FZ1000 costs $17~18k, how much does the FZ600 cost? i dun need so much power and frankly i am very intimidated by its size. theres a red fazer parked at my carpark and occasionally someone with a blue fazer parks on the pavement beside my block, so i get plenty of first hand viewing of the bike. and the size intimidates me, so mebbe i'd like the FZ600 in future. if someone know the price pls declare thanx.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

don't be intimidated by the size and power of the FZS1, it is all in the mind. all bikes need some time to get used to it, sooner or later you'll find that the 600 has not enough power to your liking. :hungry:

hah hah thanx for the advise but for me $$$ is a big consideration and i'm the kind who instead of saying it has 400cc less than the FZ1, i tend to say more that it has 450cc more than my TA150. i'm passionate bout bikes but not that hardcore bout riding it.

i was looking around the net for pics of the FZS600 and was initially disapointed coz they all showed the Fazer600 as the old ugly head fazer. i tot only the FZ1 was the garang looking one then finally found a site showing the latest '03 FZS600 with the same look as the FZ1. phew.

so how much the FZS600 cost?

The Fazer600 Should be ard 14k-15K. You will hunger for more power when u are used to the 600. I strongly you get the 1000cc one instead. If I'm not wrong the fz600 uses the old Thunder Cat engine.

Actually the Fazer1000 isn't that huge really... I dunno... personally I feel it's definitely more compact as compared to the other 1000cc bikes. :bounce:

Oh yah another thing to add. Comfort Driving Centre is using the Fazer600 for Class 2 learner riders. :D

You can get first hand view of it there!

The head change to FZ1 look....while the look of the engine....still the old cat look.

ah, so many ppl say me....

ok ok lemme just explain how i think. this is of coz just me. u see, if i had the opportunity to follow my passion and completely not consider money and other real world issues, i would have gone right out and bought an R1. if i could buy the R1 honestly i would never look at other bikes again (at least for the next decade till the next generation supersports comes out). unfortunately, money is a big issue with me. if i am not wrong, an R1 costs $21k. i am a student now graduating in 2 years time. once i start work, must think bout marriage lah house lah and heck of a lot of other stuff which need money. sure, scrimp and save now can afford downpayment for R1 and once i work surely the instalment can afford too. but then i wont be able to afford all the other more pressing stuff. so i have long ago given up any real hopes of owning an R1. by the time i can afford, with wife and kids i doubt it will be practical then anyway.

now somebody mentioned the FZ1 cost ~$17k. i always tot it would cost the same as the R1. and that got me excited because i tot mebbe the FZS600 might cost ~$14k. thats a whopping $7k lower than my dream bike. again, if i had my way without considering money, in the 600cc class i would have gone straight out and bought the CBR600RR (how much does that cost by the way?). but i have to consider real world issues unfortunately.

so you see, the FZS600 to me is a very possible compromise that i can make. power? i want but dont need that 1000cc, i am prepared to accept that financially i have to forego the additional power no matter how power-hungry i may get on the FZS600. considering bike alone, yes i must agree the FZ1 or the R1 will be a bettter choice over the FZS600, but i have added other personal considerations into the equation to come up with the FZS600 as the only viable choice.

so it really cost ~$14k?

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/280x200q90/689/siggyyy.jpghttp://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/280x200q90/203/hsmj.jpg

Sorry side track abit..what abt Hornet600

just like Fazer6 using old cat....Hornet 6 using CBRF3 engine.

both are almost on par.

The odd 16 inch rim and 16 litre tank for pre y2k Model

that the only con I can think of lor.

I always find that Hornet 600 is a sensible bike with power to pull wheelie, and can put a box for marketing too. The best part is that this bike been around since 98, so can get quite cheap starting from $6K.

Oh er... Mechwira. Let's not over react. heheh

Yah. Its about your personal commitments and its good you put your priorities right! Its best to buy something which you r most comfortable with. :shades:

Anyway one other recommendation. a cheaper alternative 900cc bike.

hmm... I think if wanna save money like you said. might as well stick to your TA150??

The Yamaha Diversion 900. This bike is used by Singapore's Traffic Police.

You might wanna take a look

FZS600 is not bad leh, very fun & fast enough for spore road leh!! Very light also, easy & friendly bike to ride. Tyres are same as super 4, so very cheap. Fuel tank damn big, can last me 420km for 22 litres. Engine very reliable too. More then enough for touring. Insurance cheap too at $660. No regard downgrading to a FZS600 from FZS1000.

well since your dream bike is an R1 why nt just go for it then?

you live life only once...why get something that is not wat you wanted in the first place?

you are still young(so am i) so why bother abt the things that are still far away? dun live to regret the decisions that you have made...any decisions, not only bikes...

so if you have a dream then go for it...dun leave it as just a dream...

you only live life ONCE!!

you\'ll live only once
