nv deal before. but to save money for the new buyer, if not wrong is, transfer bike to buyer name then buyer retain number.

so seller bike will have a new number attach.

but hor i duno how other cover their backside if the buyer play stunt, as in the above method is to transfer bike to the other party name mah. after number retain then transfer back to seller name.

as long transfer to 2nd hand bike, u need to part with $1300 as u can see, be it retain to 2nd hand bike, current bike to 2nd hand bike.

ic but i think this in not the way to sell plate i guess ...

reason y i say need to transfer bike to the buyer. is because, from what i read there is no way lta allow u to transfer number to other party. that is where vehicle transfer to buyer to allow him to retain is what i understand from it.

A transfer to B via direct number transfer is not allowed unless due to special cases approved by lta.. maybe u can test that out then..

how come 2nd hand bike transfer to a totally new vehicle? 100 dollars?

cos number was put on new bike, method is to retain existing number then when buy new bike request to put the retain number on it.. new bike is always 100 opposed to non brand new bike = 1300.

Thanks naruto for your great help man!

SIAN! $1300 . X.X

yeah unless u pre buy the plate many many years in advance n retain till till u buy BRAND NEW bike.. but there is retain period.. so some ppl i seen on forum before is if the retain period is nearly up, they find ppl who is gona buy brand new bike, use the plate owner name buy, then retain number then transfer the new bike back to the person who wanna buy bike.

if u dun understand the method, it will seem complicated haha..

i juz bought a number plate 2 put on my NEW BIKE.! is 100SGD. the number that ts wanna sell will have to tranfer the bike to the buyer. DEN buyer will retain the number plate and tranfer the ts bike with FBE number plate back 2 ts. kidda confusing. my bike shop did it for me. so the buyer had 2 fork out the 2x tranfer fee. hope it helps.

hi dudes,

how do i sell my number plate (2 digits) which i've retained for 3 years? i want to sell my bike and number plate to the bike shop. i was being told that the bike shop will buy the bike but not the number plate. so i just wondering it's really a waste to bid a number that you want but can't sell to bike shop unless i can find a buyer.

how do i go by doing that?

Posted

r u still having the bike?

if yes, transfer the bike to the new buyer thus that number will go under the buyer. then buyer apply retain number, then will be issued new number to your bike and then after retain, buyer can transfer the bike back to u.

if no more bike, if lucky the buyer buy new bike then u can be the 1st owner, after u get the bike then transfer back to buyer. 2nd option in this case, is to find someone who is going to register new bike, then u put the number on his bike n then transfer to buyer etc. this one will involve alot of step.

you say retain 3 years then bike dun wan take the number, so i duno is you got bike + number plate or pure number plate now.

hi naruto !!

thanks for the reply !!

i've the bike and the no. plate with me...

after reading your input, i find it really involves a lot of steps. it seems like ..is not easy to get a buyer...

Posted

its easy to get a buyer as long ur number is nice, cos sure got ppl wan. as for the cost normally its borne by buyer. except the steps involve, the older the bike the cheaper the transfer price. but bike have to transfer to the buyer name before the buyer can use. that the troublesome part n maybe the cost to do this.

as long the buyer get the number, whatever cost he incur if he transfer to current old bike, its $1000 but it dont affect u =)

hey any of u guys noe how to buy an old plate no. which starts frm "A"

cos i'm tring to noe how cos i wanna get a old plate...

i think i have repeated the steps quite a few time in this thread le. guess u dun understand then, this will be hard.

pay $$ to the buyer for the number worth, method to transfer the number to ur name likely to be borne by u either ($$).

as for where to find the number ppl selling, there are ppl posting on this thread.
