I not so rich. Can only afford to go ClubFITT at Sengkang Sports Complex. Decent equipments and only $2.50 per session...

please do stick to clubfitt.. join cali fitness and be ready to see pinoys and arrogant rich ppl hogging machines.. luckily for me, im more of the power rack and bench user.. not to mention, half naked 'campers' peeping at you while you shower..

Equipment is dated but the student and semi-pro community over there are courteous. Just wish they'd stop sitting on my fav machines while cooling down for 10 mins tho..

 

Are there any alternatives besides California.. without the bullshit? Interested in serious training.

Woodlands Clubfitt one thing is .. just jam packed with people. I go there once in a blue moon for a quickie sweat cos i live near there hehe.. In fact, i jsut went yesterday at noon! Another thing is - its freakin small; i cant find space to do stuff with the olympic bar i had to resort to squeezing myself in front of the bag rack.

 

Yes, equipment is dated - rusty etc.. but okay lah, the kids there are not as jialat as the ppl in Cali Fitness. YES they do sit on the machines while cooling down - screw it, i'll kindly tell them that i need to use the rack / space. I know what you're thinking - they seat around at the back of the rowing machine area to oogle at aunties @ swimming pool right?

 

If you're thinking of alternatives - maybe you can try other clubfitts. I think Jurong is a big gym with plenty of space.

 

IF you want fresh barbells with individualised fixed weights and lotsa dumbells + lotsa bench - Cali. Im not a fan of machines but i'll use em just in case im in the mood for iso attacks. Its 20km from woodlands to cali bugis btw.

 

PS - Still... i wouldnt recommend Cali to friends unless you're into the dance and mass group exercises. DO NOT JOIN alone.. Always bring a friend who's already a member so they cannot sell you their 'special-promotion' rates. This way - they cannot lie.

if they do, first thing im going to source out is a good place to park my bike.

 

Currently, at bugis Cali - i park 'somewhere' for free.. quite a number of locations ard that area that offer free parking for bikes.

 

Orchard and Raffles - wow.. expensive rates. Havent recce Novena though..
