Hi Bros,

I'am riding a cagiva planet 125cc, i installed my planet with a 32mm racing carb , wanna check with u guys, if u use racing carburators will the idling of your bike slowly die off if u dont trottle it ?

Cause i have this problem , whenever i stop at traffic my bikes idling will slowly die down and eventually dies off , to counter this problem i must keep blowing my trottle little by little which i tinks is a waste of petrol.

when i go back to my workshop and asked my mech he said it was because of the racing carb , my fren told me the same thing that the racing carb was not made for low idling .

The reason i asked this question was to see if any other riders out there encounter the same prob as me while using a racing carb or if there are any solutions to counter this prob =]

Any solutions and info please share but dnt flame me =] thanks for reading :)

For race carbs use bigger idle jet.

Ask your mech about the jetting sizes for your bike

for del'orto carbs it should above the size of 40 for >200cc

I think it all depends on the setting, i encounter it before, i increase my idling myself and the problem goes off, but best is go to your trusted mechanic and ask them to help you do setting. : )

time to change a new mech

I wouldnt even be bother to use a mech who only know how to use idle/main jet as the only tuning tools..

Assuming u are using dellorto carb, Dellorto carbs have many more variable to play ard with.. Go first motor look for ah seng.. Most other shops dun have dellorto jets and stuff instock, so most mech dun even bother doing it properly except putting the idling higher as a tempory measure.

stock 125cc using up to 34mm carb should be no problem.

i do have dis problem. ytd was de worst. cus i ting raining, den weather is super cold. whenever i stop at traffic light de bike will jus die off. den i have to open my throttle abit (until 2rpm) whenever i stop. when i reach home, i try to change my idling to slightly higher. den try my bike on de way to skol, not much of bike stalling (or maybe bcus engine had oreadi warm up). whenever earli morning i will pull choke to start my bike. todae de same oso, but aft i close my choke, my bike will die off. den i will give another kick start, n a few blow, my bike resume to normal. but still will tend to open throttle abit while stopping on traffic light, cus scare if bike die off during tt time, den lagi jialat. will get damn piss off cus car will start to horn u, n u will tend to kan jiong. lolx. later todae aft wrk see how my bike goes. hahax.
