Hi all Bros and Sis here,

i am currently taking my Class 2B..

Now awaiting for TP Test Date.

I would like to purchase a 2nd hand sport bike.

May i know what are the criteria for a bike owner?

For those price stated "e.g : Selling at $3k cash"

means i just pay $3k for the bike, that's all?

Or there are still monthly installment on the outstanding bike cost?

As i know COE, Road Tax and Insurance is not into the cost.

But can someone guide me roughly how much should i prepare aside to get a bike?

I appreciate someone can guide me as i am really unsure and how to go about it..

Thanks in advance

Hi shirley-tan,

my advise to you is to get someone who own a bike (oldbie) to go to the bike shop with you.

Cheers.

shops they got alot of tricks......the price might be cheap they offer.. but check their interest...insurance n taxes is just a minor checklist to take note......check the shop financing system do you feel comfort with the hire purchase agreement....do remember once they repo it will cost u $$$$$$ 4X of the actual price....MY EXPERIENCE it ....though its my fault but they can rediculas charge u even a note they send cost $25.. is the best get full cash payment mode... bargain till u win make the salesman work....ask him to details out all the charges..(HIDDEN COST) never ever put a deposit if they ask u to put as if to book it....there more outside...call CHASE if u need help..

i think u better bring someone who is "seasoned" regarding the matter, especially if u're buying from shop and going for hire-purchase. direct owner sale are more straight forward unless he's out to con u....

like wat one of the forumers say.. 3k cash means you pay for COE *remaining years* plus insurance and road tax might be paid by previous owner for a few months also.. :)

Kindly read thru at least the intro section first before decide to post any comments.... thanks...

Yup, agreed. Also, if the shop promises to do this do that, make sure all are written in your sales contract/agreement. There are enough stories on the forum to illustrate that, e.g. promise new paintwork, free accessories and etc.
