Hi guys,

Just started riding an ST.

Best ride so far.

To keep it short, I have a Hepco topbox with baserack and would like to attach to the bike.

1. Anyone selling the attachment? Second hand would be best.

2. Anywhere I can get one? Apart from M Technik?

3. Worst come to worst I have to go Seng Kwang.

DO send me an SMS at 96978579.

Would like to meet up with fellow ST riders, any meetings?

Thanks!

Yeong

hey bro, may i know which part r u toking abt?

my 13 yr old ST11 has white smoke coming out from one of its exhausts.

Any experience bros here know what's the reason?

Hi Simon,

the smoke is constant....i've allowed the engine to idle for 5-10mins and the white smoke is still there. And it's coming out from the right exhaust only.

When i rev the engine, more white smoke will come out.....any idea what's the problem?

thx!

tantan1,

have a reliable mechanic to check & rectified the plm within ur budget.

from the way u describe to me it could be worn piston rings on either ur no.1 or no.3 cylinder OR other related plm on the top engine blk resulting engine oil leaking into final fuel combustion area before to exhaust.

still can ride ur bike but make sure u monitor engine oil level more frequently & ensure sufficient amount of engine oil in ur ST1100 before the engine got seized.

Simon,

I got the same problem too. When I start my bike and let the engine idle for a few minutes, smoke will come out from both exhaust. But the difference from tantan case is that the smoke from my bike will dissappear after a while. Got burning smell also. Is it due to the same problem?

Any idea where to rectify the problem? Know roughly how much the damage ($$$) would be?

Very worried....

xtravel,

ST gurus...?

we seldom talk about used machine prices in public, got what I mean..?

fuel consumption could be any range from 10-24km/ltr depending on condition of the bike & riding habit.

Pan-Euro or not r only a slight difference in carb main jet & slow jet. non Pan-Euro has an additional emission control unit in it.

can really remember the exact road tax fee, I last paid about $180+ for 6mths. insurance price u got to check with few company with ur personal & bike details.

Hi Simon Soh,

Hope you can answer my query- When I am riding, I can hear some metal sound from the front part of my bike, it sounds like some kind of metal turning and it came out from near the petrol tank there.

Wondering if you have experience this problem before.

Please advice.

Thanks!

cbkooky,

appreciate ur attention for his enquiry. :thumb:

hayada,

r u using EBC brake pad..?

could be almost worn brake pad brushing onto the brim of brake disc, try to tap-in ur brake slightly at a speed where u could hear it, if it doesnt sound out again then very high chance of the usual disturbing noise from ur worn brake pad, new pair of brake pad will be eliminated the sound.

cant confirm of the brake pad fault unless I got to hear it.

Hi Cbkooky,

That sound, I can hear it more when I'm riding on straight direction.

Strange that, that sound I can only hear it recently, last time do not have this happening to my bike.

Hi Simon Soh,

I do not know the brand of the brake pad, but the last time I have replaced it is from Gopal's shop. I think it is quite a long time ago. Haha... Maybe those brake pads really have worned out - Will check on my brake pads later.

Thanks for the advice!

Hi Hayada...

Since you are at that too...check the disc plate.See if there are any signs of abnormality, surface not flat...etc.

posting on behalf of a fren.

he went to view a st11 recently FL 15**. its on sale in the garage section by owner rashid.

both of us have no experience with st11 but there was a cause for concern as the engine produce a knocking sound which can be heard and felt if you put your hand on the seat. its a constant beat which , if i were to compare with a regular sportbike, would mean the valves are due or sumthing is wrong with the engine that needs tuning. any advice on this >
