Hi does anyone know what is the factory carb jet sizes and adjustment setting for our air/fuel mixture screw?

I checked the Clymer and there are many settings depending on where the bike is exported to.

If anyone can let me know what is the slow jet and main jet size, as well as the number of turns out for the air/fuel mixture screw, will be much appreciated. Thanks!

hi, can i know what tires u guys use and how much is it?

i changed my tires to shinko ones like maybe a month or so ago. cost me about $220 for front and back, very cheap... but the thing is, it is alright for use all the way until 150km/hr. anything above the, seriously, the bike is wobbling like crazy! I'm not sure whether it is because there's no pillion or because the tires r that bad. cause previously, i have travelled 190km/hr, 160km/hr, 210km/hr, but all with pillion and with quite old bridgestone tires, bike doesnt feel like it is gonna fall on its own.

yest, i was going up to 170-180 and i tell u, i felt like the bike was gonna throw me off by wobbling side to side!

any advice?

Did u see the rating for this tires?> Certain brands and model have different rating for speed.

I ride a scoot too and so far, out of 10. 9 says they wont use shinko.

If u plan only to ride in SG, i guess its ok.

I miss my Spec II...

ic ic, didnt know got speed rating. i know got weight rating but didnt know about speed. will go and check. but anyway, i guess for local riding or any riding below 150km/hr, i guess its good, considering the price. and this tire, seriously can corner ALOT! cause the compound is mixed if i'm not wrong. when i press e rubber, its quite soft to touch. that might b e cause of wobbling, i not sure also. :)

Can anyone advise me on where I can get coolant that is suitable for our ST? Read that it has to be silicate free, any brands to recommend? I would prefer if it already came premixed with distilled water if possible.

Also where do you buy SAE 80-90 gear oil for our shaft?

Thanks!

thanks armani. btw mine is around 4k also at 120km/h.

I can feel slight buzziness through the bars at 4k though, do you feel the same? At 3k it is completely smooth, but 4k and above, after awhile my hands will become numb. Not sure if this is normal?

My carbs are perfectly balanced and valve clearance is swee swee....so not sure what else is there. Only thing I haven't checked is ignition timing.

thanks armani, guess it's the same then. :)

Hey can I seek the experts' help? I removed my carbs and I noticed the idle mixture screw on carbs #1 and #3 face outwards, and the screw on #2 and #4 face inwards.

Can someone tell me if this is correct?

Can I check if any of our local ST bros owns the Honda tool for idle screw adjustment, that I can borrow? The US part number is 07MMA-MT3010B, but their idle screw has a D-head. Ours is cross head, but I can't find a part number for it. Thanks.

Hi, like to check what is the normal price for spark plugs now?

Either I was over charged or inflation has really been great over the years.

If it's inflation then I accept it, else got to find cheaper places or change myself.

Was charged $14.02 per spark plug (4x14.02=56.08) for normal/standard spark plugs CR8EH-9.

Is that the market rate now?

Btw, had anyone of you heard of main stand lock?

The bike shop mech was telling me that seng kwang can do a locking system on the main stand, when locked, prevent lowing of the main stand. Can help prevent bike theft when parking in malaysia...

Peppercrab, you took the whole carbs out? Wow, you are way too advance for me!

Should not Cost more than 10$ at most for each. I assume u bought at motorshop which could have included installation. Try FJT or Eversuccess . Cheaper and self install.

Peppercrab, since you dismantle the carb, check float bowl for hairline cracks and any cracks on the black hose.

I would have stayed off from these untested brands tires. Just stick with pirelli, Michelin , bridgestone etc to be safe . Don't compromise cheap for safety. Our life depends on the two contact on tarmac.

On average the tyres cost from 380-500 for our rides st11& st13.

Thanks for the advise. I would buy separately n self install in the future.

There was actually a separate labour charge item of $18.69, so by right they should not have included installation in the price of the spark plugs.

But well, everyone is just trying desperately to earn a living, I just have to be more careful next time:cheeky:

I bought mine at LAB, I think it's around $8 for one.
