Hi,

To check around, I mananged to pump 26.8L into tank yet the reserve lights have never once lit up before that. Is this normal?? (FYI at the startup checks, the reserve lights light up => not a bulb problem)

Also once the reserve lights up, how many liters approximately would there be?

Apprecieate any replies. Thanks!

I am facing the EXACT same problem as you. Pumped 26.5 litres without my reserve fuel bulb lighting up at all. Bulb is ok coz like urs, it goes on everytime I start the bike. Am wondering if any mechanic can check if the sensor link inside the fuel tank is faulty.

Mine comes on at around 24L. If the light turns on when ignition on, then probably the float arm needs to be calibrated or adjusted.

Ok, seems like a sensible suggestion. Hopefully that won't cost too much. Thanks bro.

Kano, Ah Hai should be able to do this right?

Have to order online from overseas I think. I am also looking for good bike accessories shops in Singapore but they seems so limited in their range. So far only been to motor world in eunos with their basement. If got time, I am thinking of visiting HKL in bukit Merah one of the days. Their website looks impressive. Online, I like twisted throttle and sports tour which are american websites. UK website quote their prices in pounds which is so scary when I think of the exchange rates.

After the idle screw adjustment, 23.8 litres got me about 380km. I suspect my low fuel light may also be coming on earlier than usual.

azary, have you tried FJT? If you have the part number can try asking them to order for you. Btw may I ask why you want the 28A alternator?

guys...really need ur help...im searching for 28A alternator...pls help out if u guys got some idea where to find it..tq

Try old southern motor. IMO getting yourself a new one would be better compare to used and changing it is not easy so best let the shop do.

Bros,

I am experiencing wobble on my handlebar at low speed. Does anyone know the reason and how much to repair?

Thanks in advance.

it happen to me before but there could other reasons as well.

-) cone bearing

-) tire pressure

-) uneven wear and condition on the tire

at what speed did the bike start to wobble? mine was 40-60km/h

I miss my Spec II...

Hey bro,

Superblackbox gave some excellent advice. I'd also check that the bolts clamping the forks to the triple trees are torqued correctly.

To check the steering cone, put the bike on main stand, have someone push down the back to lift the front wheel, and grab the wheel or front forks and then try to move them forward and back, there must be no free play.

If you'd like, send me a PM and I'll help you take a look if you need a hand.

Hi Everyone,

I am a newbie in ST11. just bought the ride and love it, although i spend a lot of waste repair then found Go Pa, but after riding for a while, still found my fuel consumption a bit high. I get around 13.5km per litre, How's everybodies? Is my bike the only odd ball?

Hi sparklight,

I used to get about 15km/l, now about 16km/l. But my clutch plates are worn and slipping, so I think that also contributes to higher consumption. I know most people get 17km/l and some on overseas forums get up to 22km/l.

Do you know how to remove your spark plugs? If you can remove them and take a pic and post here, might be able to tell a lot.

I'm starting to suspect that aftermarket windshields which create higher wind resistance might affect consumption also.

Hey Superblackbox and Peppercrab,

I have a feeling its the steering cone because I have got a new tyre so the tyre should be not the reason. However, I just got a new fork seal too. So I am not sure if the bolts clamping the forks to the triple trees are torqued correctly? How do I check that?

If its the steering cone, any idea how much to get it change?

Anyway, I am having an aftermarket windscreen and my FC is 15km/l. Would be better if I can gain more distance.

I am on bridgestone OEM tyres.

I know this might sound a bit ridicules, but I heard stories that metzzeler z6 doesn't wobble for this bikeand it is the tires that makes the difference. I don't know why this bike is so sensitive. I also don't believe that this can be true. So just waiting to see if superblackbox is also not using metzzeler z6 tires.

I am using metzzeler z6 so far not wobble.

You might also want to consider putting this thing called ride-on in your tires. It is a tire sealant n it is also suppose to self balance the tires. I have it added, it did feel better but my bike wasn't wobbling before I even added them. I add them for puncture protection but I found the handling improved as well. You can do a Internet search on "ride-on"

Riding can be a safe, fun filled activity for everyone :thumb:
