Hi Peeps. Sori to bother u in this thread. I am abt to change air filter for my STX. Is it a good idea to change to KN&N air filter ?

Aja, I've just changed to a KN&N air filter last month. It's about $140 + GST. It could be cheaper elsewhere. I have noticed the engine runs smoother and better power when moving off.

Thks Shizzy. A normal filter will cost abt $70. Such the case, i might as well follow u and change to KN&N filter which can be used for a very long time. :)

Shizzy, thks again for your info. Planet motor quote me $130 of the KN&N filter. I may change my filter there.

Good morning fellow ST riders!

I need to change out my rear tyre quite urgently today, could anyone help me recommend a shop that does this properly for ST11? I.e. they apply the moly paste to the splines and gears before installing? And also, they charge a fair price?

What is a good tyre for long lasting + grip? Previously I read Michellin Macadam, but heard now no longer available? Would appreciate a recommendation for tyre as well as roughly what price I'm looking at.

Thanks very much in advance!

Hi Bro,

Recently I spoke to a FJR owner with a black pelican case (model 1400) at the rear. Maybe you can consider this as according to the owner it is big enough to keep documents and also a set of raincoat.

Jus wanna say I am proud of my more than 10 yr old beast. Me and my wife did Mae Hon Son, Chiangmai, Golden Triangle in Thailand on our ST1100. A single bike, husband and wife and from 3 to 17 Dec this year. Rain, gravel, sand, falls, bad roads, good roads, the beast did it all and gave me no trouble along the whole journey that a duct tape and cable ties did helped hahaha. Will update pics and reports soon. Now resting. Cheers!

Awesome! Look forward to reading your ride report! I love my ST11 too! Best bike I've ever owned so far.

Its conveniently well to handle on any ordinary roads, not so effective on serious curves & sandy paths.

It's not the destination we conquered but ourselves.

Wow boss! It's good to see you around! Are you still riding ST11? I've been reading the old posts on this thread and appreciate your helpfulness.

Btw, I just went on a road trip, and discovered two things I need to change on my ST. First problem I encountered was numb hands. It was really quite bad, till I lost all feeling in my hands and had to stop. My bike engine feels very smooth, so it's not a mechanical problem. I'm thinking of changing to an all foam grip, anyone knows where to get in S'pore?

Also my shield is too low for me (I'm about 1.78m). It only comes up to about my chest level, I want something around my chin level. It's an aftermarket shield from Australia (according to ex-owner).

What has been the best shield for folks about my height?

Thanks!

PS: Btw, Macadams are no longer available. I ended up with Bridgestones touring tyres.

Are you wearing gloves? If you are riding with thin gloves, try to wear a touring gloves instead. If you are wearing gloves already and still get numbness, try the bmw grips. Many riders who tour uses that.

Hi All,

I've just check via MYEG that my bike has 4 summons in Malaysia.

My question is how to know whether the summons are paid or settled.

Next question if not settled by the previous owner, is there any advice for the current owner (me).

Thanks in advance

Hi Doremi,

Yes I was wearing gloves. They're leather ones, and quite thin. I'm looking to buy waterproof gloves, was thinking of getting Komine since I've had good experience with their jackets/pants, what would you recommend?

And I'm already using bmw grips. I'm thinking of getting these grips:

Anyone knows if these are available in S'pore? My wife's bike has them and she has no problems with numb hands.
