hey guys, just enquring how many km can this monster run with full tank???

my low fuel indicator lights up when it reach 350......... so is it normal?? :help:

it depend on ur riding style....! guess u r still new to the bike or so, rev can go abit high...!

another thing is bike conditions, such as tyre pressure, and maybe wear out jet...!

i remember last ime when i first got my bike i got onli have 310km when my light come up...!

now able to do 370km+++

btw alot of ST owner had bring it to 400+++ before the light came up...!

another thing is tat ST11 save fuel when u r constant travelling on constant speed, less stop/pick up.........!

ST11 optimum speed is around range 140 to 160km, where i achieve 19.5km/l

this is done in NSH...!

In singapore, normal average people is doing 16km/l to 20km/l depend to riding style and rod condition...! i myself average 17+-km/l.....!

Well said shadowman..... This is every ST rider problem when they just get their bike...

Just FYI sailmail we usually seldom go higher than 3K rpm to change gear.... which can save u alot on petrol....

If u wanna find out more info u can join our weekly(wed) gathering at LC foodcourt at Tanjong Katong from 8pm onwards....

hi sailmail,

u see reserve light at 350km is very normal to all of us, some of us got it lower due to inconsistant riding habit & etc......

there many factors can cause poor fuel efficiency, some example quoted by shawdowman r factual, but if ur bike doesnt have jerking plms, leave the carburretor alone until other components r inspected.

full tank to reserve lighted is approximately 23ltrs used, for mine is 22ltrs. meaning ur bike is consuming at 15+km/ltr, the exact measure can only be calculated after few full tanks.

My beaST have been consuming quite a bit...

Light up at about 360km to 380km recently...

No particular reason but like what the guys have said...

Due to many factors...

Mine ... i am sure is due to stopping and pick-ups

the nature of my job requirement to visit

many places for meetings and such...

But when i travel on NSHW for trip and so...

it hit about 420km to 440km before it light up...

and also depending on your riding habits and pattern...

so test out another few more Tanks before u confuse yourself...

Good luck...

Join us for Meet up and compare...

Cheers

Hi Sailmail, at 350km, what petrol do you use?

When I first got my ST, I use V-Power, indeed V-power consumption, 340km reservse light up. Then I switch to petronas, managed to get 400km. Now after carb-syn, I am getting 430 to 450km when reserve lights up.

ST11 is one of the fuel saver in its class..........!

petrol may be one of the factor which may affect fuel consumption due to the quality of the petrol.....!

But base on seeing so many example, riding habit still the major role in fuel saving...! for example, i onli able to get 17km/l and others may get 20km/l...!

i blame myself of want to pick up faster, road to my work place have alot of traffic light, so tat explain my 17km/l lao....!

btw not many 1100cc bikes can achieve 17km/l.....! so we had already save when we decide to buy ST.....!

hee..........!

Hi all,

i just topped up my st11 yesterday. did 386km for a fill-up of 20.5 litres.

That would be about 18.5km.

Of course when travelling on the NS highway, it is easy to hig above 400km for a full tank.

In fact my friend's Yamaha Divvy 900 consumes more than an ST.

cheers!

to only blame yourself if u like to Pick-Up Fast...

and eh ... it also take some time to monitor the bike conditions also

so good luck again

actually i found out that the cosumption of divvy was quite wide which could easily drop to 12- 13 tats why found ST better. futher more tank bigger.

Dun think so....but I will check it out or any1 know about it?

But some of the ST rider change their clutch plate together with their timing belt. According to the manual timing belt need to be change around 80,000~120,000km, so most ppl take the average 100,000km to change timing belt and clutch plate. Coz cut cost on workmanship.

clutch plate is veri hard for periodic maintenace!

it is wear and tear part, the wear and tear is not constant for every rider.....!

some rider like to half clutch while at slope, which may result in greater wear and tear on clutch....!

another example is improper release of clutch may also result more wear and tear...!

some rider can ride 80000km without changing clutch plate while some need to change at 50000km.....! the different is great.

how we know when to change, onli wat to know is when the clutch slip.....!

the result of clutch slip is higher than normal fuel consumation and have problem reaching certain speed (depend on how serious it is)

ST11 require 10 clutch plate which is one of the few bikes tat got so much plate...!

As for the pricing i don know.....heee....!

Well This is the Story

First Time

When my mechanic jus keep throttlin then let go clutch like testin the viting point then got the bay whinning sound but very low tone instead or rather low pitch. He asked whether previous owner got change clutch pi so i said not sure.

The thing is usuall acceleration wouldnt affect

second Time and third time

When Change gear while bike already in motion, for example from maybe 2nd to 3rd or 3rd to 4th, the clutch i think didnt like get hold of the gear. so was like middle of 2 gears. clutch in for a while then drop gear then engage.

Fourth time

Needed that extra acceleration so move of from a stand still from third lane to first. traffic quite busy. so once got viting point then turn throttle. who know same sound.

This type of so called clutch feels so diff from others i exp on other bikes. anyway i jus think either really got clutch skin to change of jus that this type of bike cant receive had riding.
