Hi Bros!!

My class 2 is like 3 months away but now planning to get an ST already :cheeky:

But I was just wondering, are ST100ss better than the STX1300s? Coz it seems dat there are more of the ST1100s on the roads than the STX1300s. Is it the performance or is it the price?

Hi Niti..Mayb cos the of the price thats why you dont really see it often. Most of us have st1100 US and pan euro version. Its one of the best sport touring combo you can get at a reasonable cost compare to those BMWs etc...St1100 have more of those mechanical, analogue stuffs compare to STX 1300 which i believe more on electronics.Of cos, that is only to my opinion. Jus look through your riding needs and financial requirements. The plus pt for me abt this bike is the large storage space and maintenance wise. ..anythng more and a goldwing or a car would be perfect.Hheheh.Cheers!

Oh, ST got US and Pan Euro version? I have seen the pan euro version but not sure bout the US ones. Wat r the differences?

Budget-wise, if $300++ per month considered ok but if reach 400 quite expensive ah. STX i heard is very2 expensive. Even though its my dream bike but I dun tink i can afford it, unless i happen to bump into a 16kg goldbar on the road... :sian:

Next best choice, ST100 :cheeky:

US version is older. Pan Euro newer n more reliable. But generally ST is a v gd bike. Only problem is tat its a pretty heavy bike with no reverse gear. So when it comes to parking, ya gotta study the gradient of the lot or ya be stuck in the lot. I used to owned one. Had abt 50,000 km on it. Still drool when i see 1, regret selling it. any1 willing to rent me a ST for a day? or half a day will do?

Hi Rajeh and all,

I'm changing my tires soon too. Thought of using what i'm using now, P. Dragon, but no longer available.

Can anyone recommend any new tires that's good, other than Mettzler Z4 or BT020? Gopa is selling the Z4 for abt $360(with labor), and recommended against BT020 as the steering wobbles at low speed. BT020 costs $266 without labor.

Any input is greatly appreciated. Thx

Z4 @ $360 w/labour ???

Seem like a good deal... i only heard some Gopa's regulars getting at $400~$420

I advise u better check the manufacture date of the tires... After Dragon...

Gopa is recommending Z4...

I am using the Michelin Magadam but seem like not much stock left...

Have a bro here that is using the Michelin Pilot...

Michelin Macadam 50 has been replenished into Singapore recently.

Z4 also being replenished into Singapore aggresively during the past few weeks.

Thanks for the feedback so far on the tires. I'll be going down to get them changed this Sat.

BTW, how do you guys make a U-turn after pumping petrol at the 2nd link? Can some kind soul tell me?Thx

Happy New Year and happy hols to all in advance!

Huh??? i thought U turn liao then pump petrol... then go straight out...

We usually will do this...

After custom, go straight until u see Gelang Patah turn out,

DONT turn out at Gelang Patah.... less then 50m after that there is another exit...

I think is call xxx NusaJaya , keep left turn in and keep left

Do another turn left upwards back (its a Big U-Turn) to NSHW back towards second link...

ohh as for tires...

i noticed that at my MSCP, my rear tires (still quite new then) always (i mean ALWAYS) slip whenever there's rain and the ground level (only the ground level) floor is wet.

ist time i dunno, after rain enter car park, open throttle, but bike not moving off. thought my hands numb after the rain. but i din realize that the tire is slipping. right after i closed the throttle, my bike rear start to fishtail... whoa...

grab until buay-hoo... thought confirm buang liao :faint:

nowadays, everytime same scenario, i let the momentum carry the bike itself through the ground level as much as it can go, then slowly open throttle.

once in awhile will still try and see if bike still fishtails...

answer is YES :sian:

I stay in Tampines... I also feel that its too far but no choice...

Woodland Checkpoint is too unpredictable liao... really cannot tahan

The narrow lanes, the crowd, the poot poots, kanna scratched until sian

I will only only go through Woodlands late nights, or noon time weekdays lor.

That 2nd Link way is much easier, best if u only want to U-Turn Top-Up and go.

else can try go to GP town for makan (TianLai at night)

Changed my tires at Gopa today, got the Z4 tires. He has Dragon tires, but for the rear only.

PearlST - you are right about the price for the Z4. The $360 ones are older tyres. PearlST and Smokingjoe - Thanks for the directions at 2nd link.

I'll keep a lookout for any rides that you guys are organising. cheers!
