Hey Guys...

Those of u who intending to change the timing chain tensioner on ur own..... BEWARE!!!

Please do not straight away just change the timing chain tensioner. U need to turn the valve at located at the left side of the engine (the two circle covers with a minus marking on it)

inline with the T-marking (move counter clock wise) then can change the tensioner. U need a size 19 tool to do this.

If you never do this, the timing valve will not be sycronize thus ur engine can crank but won't start. Please do not force it to start, if not the valve will bent.

If u r not sure u can ask me when meetup time.

If not confident just send it to the bike shop to do it... Now my bike in Rosli's shop... :faint:

I suspect those who do the valve clearance and change the new timing chain maybe get... anyway tat time rosli already told me to do tat

but i insist tat many times i just change without going the proper procedure.

No prob watsoever. He told me u are just lucky that the tensioner fall at the correct side when last time i change it....

but still do it at your own risk... at least i share part of my story.. And the sad thing is that i'm now $350 poorer.. :faint:

Well...IMO,the chain tensioner....what it does is basically to giving the tension to the timing chain...(chaintensioner=tension the chain{no brainer}).

Me no tech savvy, but my views is...when the old tensioner has weaken after prolong of usage,it left the timing chain to slag...so that's why sometimes there's this rattling sound when warming up.

So by replacing a new chain tensioner,it will tighten up the timing chain...

it will automatically shaft the tension to the timing chain as you pull out the clip from the new chain tensioner leaving the slagged timing chain to tighten...

Unless your timing chain is way to slag.....we does this on our XRs too....

There's no right, and there's no wrong....it's the same quote as poking the right hole at the wrong time...:shy:
