I've read many posts about changing tires...and have seen some youtube videos of people doing that...and seen the mech change the tires and tubes of my TW200 using the machine to break the bead and all that.

I have also read many posts about how important it is to bring a spare tube and tire irons and all of that in case there is a puncture.

My question is...has anyone every changed the rear tire of a TW200 by hand? Is it even possible? I've scoured three forums (SBF, ADV and TW200FORUM) and haven't found anyone who has done it by hand.

EDIT: I did find one actually...but they had to use a Jeep to unbead the tire :faint:

If this wasn't possible...then maybe all TW200 riders need to have a different strategy for tire problems when on long trips. Would love to hear your experience...if any.

actually, most tires with spoke wheels have inner tubes still...the TW200 has inner tubes for both front and rear tires.

I carry a bead breaker when riding on my supermotard in Malaysia in case I need to replace a tube somewhere...

It is extremely difficult to break the bead of a 150 or 160 section rear tire without mechanical aid. Having 3 tire irons also help. And of course, don't forget a hand/foot pump.

You can use a suitable size C/G clamp to break the bead.

These are the tools and spare tubes that I carried on a long trip to Malaysia when I ride a tubed tyres bike.
