2009 liter sportsbikes when was the release date ? could be a gauge in a sense...

got new bike coming out this april.. made in Dubai.. First bike ever built in the middle eastern territory... Its is Unta 1200r.. Super nice sia bike

what gives ?

so the big 4, kawa, suzuki, yamaha, hondas release the 2010 models on a different schedule ? or is it something im missing o.O

one point of posting this is based on this logic

 

-2010 sportsbike model released => 2009 model sportsbike price drops by a few k

older models would also depreciate more

 

so im thinking the best time to buy a certain bike is immediately after the latest model is out assuming u don't want to buy the latest model.

 

so whats with gixxer lagging behind the yamaha(some forums also call them yammies) ? with respect to release date of the liter bikes ? is this the norm ?

Cbr 1000r 2010 is out. Saw it on the road. Think only graphic design changes.

All are out already. Manufacturers usually release their sportbikes for the upcoming year in August to October of the previous year.

 

Traditionally the big four Japanese manufacturers release new models every two years and change colour schemes in the intervening year. So for a while it was:

Even years (2006, 2008, 2010): CBR1000RR, ZX-10R, R6, GSX-R600

Odd years (2005, 2007, 2009): R1, GSX-R1000, CBR600RR, ZX-6R

 

Of course this is just general rule for example previous generation R1 was 04-07. And after the big recession of 2008-2009 manufacturers may well switch to a three year schedule. For example the ZX-10R and R6 did not have a major revamp for 2010, although there are rumours of an all-new R6 for 2011.

comes in only 1 colour (brown) n has a very large tank..gr8 for touring
