give him a good piece of my mind still wont admit its his staff fault..

this thread got me thinking.... if we suay suay kena targeted by those wardens, how can we ever proof we did display coupon? The fella could jolly well say he didn't see any and if dispute can always say we put it after the summons was mde.....

yes lor.. i am the suay one lor.. in the past i mth kena 4-5times because i never put coupon. Now move to my aunt place for a few month also kena 1-2 time. Appeal also not use because they still claim we never put. My fren tell me because past resord got ur past summon so indirectly i am the milk cow kena milk by the attendent

this is damn LL lor.. no choice.. I suggested using carpark system for carpark like those in hougang or tampines kind but they dont do ****. My house got 2 exit for carpark then got alot of ppl complain by and car come into carpark from the back exit (only for exit) than short with 6mth they do a unless barriar for it. Now i only asking for those cashcard system kind with those barriar since 1 barriar is done up liao but no one want to take my suggestion.

 

not really trying to linger the matter, but what if you paid the fine and the officer continues the same stunt, then what?

Dun think you're alone in this issue... i'm sure there are many others who face the same crap but just couldn't be bothered to dispute or have not seen this thread yet.

hey guys, i too face this prob, but when i was driving... its actually my dad who kena at newton circus cp, then i took 1.5 mths to settle this prob..

 

tell em its clearly display, then they kp insisting the warrant alway check against their training procedure, this and that..

i then reply to question how is it done, then got a reply saying from past performance record and this and that...

i pissed off then tell them go back check past record, all the past summon were paid, if wan to cheat, y wait for 30yrs...

they scare lose face then reply ok, this time waived but cannot use the same reason if kena again in the future...

 

2yrs back got 1 more incident worse, i was slping in the car with radio on and door open, that warrant think i stupid and try to summon me.. i happened to wake up when she slotting it under wiper.. so i came out to confront her. she still dare to say she din see and ask me to go town council to appeal!! wt*.. then i was standing outside the car looking back, the radio is so loud with vibration that even old man can hear...

Few week later summon me from monday - friday at same spot even when i got put coupon. The time of summon is from 8-830am +/-, so 1 day i purposely come down at the carpark to hide nearby my bike at 745am. I wait and wait and wait... finally i got her, so approch her, hello!!!! excuse me wat r u doing on my bike? the attendent reply, u never put coupon, i am here to summon u. I open my bike cover and say excuse me u see wat is this coupon. She say too bad u never put it outside ur cover so not consider.... I @#$%%& her and tell her i will complain but still she still getaway with this. Having the reason for not properly display my coupon....

 

So once ur bike is spotting by the attendent they will visit u everyday... they want to milk $$$ out of u even is just $8

i really don't understand why there is a need to summon people who never display coupon properly. summoning people for not displaying coupon, displaying tampered coupon or an expired coupon is fine cuz it is the rider's own risk to do that and if he is caught he has to face the punishment.

 

but as for the coupon not properly displayed it is totally ridiculous. isint a carpark attendant suppose to check the bike properly to see whether the coupon is displayed before taking any action?? carpark attendants use this "loophole" to increase their tally.

 

I have been a victim with this "rule" myself eventhough i clearly display my coupon inbetween my seats.

Maybe you can followup and warn him that you will henceforth take photo of every single coupon you've placed on your bike, and post them up on a public website like Flickr. If you get wrongly summon again you will refer to said photo and expect them to waive their charges.

 

Very troublesome and not foolproof (they can argue you take photo after getting summoned, but Flickr does have a time-stamp for uploading). But that's what I can think of for now. You do have to upload IMMEDIATELY though just to get the Flickr time stamp.

 

I also kena before at Boat Quay and I basically asked them "you think I so stupid or what, Boat Quay also don't put coupon???" They replied basically implying that I actually cheated but they still waived my fine.

not siding anyone or anything, but the instructions on the coupon says 3) display coupon in disc. in caps. in otherwords, just put it somewhere prominent la. if you put somewhere prominent and kena summon, wa bo wei gong.

 

the example i give is cuz i cover my bike all the time, i put the coupon at the license plate there. so if the attendant can open to see my license plate, sure can see the coupon.

 

do remember that others are service staff too, make life easy for them, they won't make life difficult for you. if they really do, then, they're screwed up. btw, i'm not in service line, but i always believe in making life easier for service personnel, helpline, wait-staff, etc.

 

if all else fails, find a friendly neighbour who drives, put cam inside the car, then park bike in lot where you can aim the cam at, make sure coupon visible in a logical spot, e.g. not on mudguard or behind radiator or meter. film and wait for the culprit to come along, if you suspect you're being unfairly targetted. get even, not mad.

My Boat Quay summons. My bike was a Gilera runner. Not many places to "kiap" my coupon so I put on the "dashboard". Still kena summon. This photo was snapped after I returned to the bike and spotted the summons.

My CB400, also kena summon even though I kiap the coupon on the fuel tank. Better still I got the summons in the mail, like 2 weeks later. I wrote in and asked HDB how can I be sure you saman me correctly? Their reply: oh maybe some bo liao person removed your saman to play prank on you. Our staff CONFIRM CHOP GUARANTEE didn't see a coupon and hence issued correctly.

 

Their word against my word. How to fight?

yeh, have to admit that dumb things like that happen once in awhile. won't say that some times the wardens don't check thoroughly. and like you said, it's near impossible to fight the case, it'll always be easier for them to just dismiss your complaint. no evidence how to fight? my personal opinion is, don't let them small things spoil your day. don't sweat the small stuff!

 

of course, if you're getting summons consistently at a regular spot, then, maybe time to take action, like suggested above, film the culprit in action. who knows, might have overtaken the warden nearby and they weren't happy. definitely not right for them to take out their personal vendetta in this manner, but humans are humans, some will be petty for sure.

 

my take is, if it's an occassional thing, appeal, can appeal, schteady. if not, i think the emotional + oppurtunity cost of getting angry/upset is more than 8bucks. blood pressure, time spent arguing through appeals, anger-affect-mood then end up doing impulsive things in other domains of your daily life.

i will fold and stuff my coupon in the erp unit. I notice summons will always be placed inside the erp unit, so the warden confirm will look at your erp unit.

no i can't tell you why because i'm not the person who summon you. fact is i wasn't pointing you out, i already read your post. note my post said my example, and i clearly stated that i'm not pointing out anyone. if you so wish to choose to see it that i'm singling you out, then i have nothing else to add.

also, mentioned in my posts are suggestions on how one might go about handling the situation if they deem they're unfairly targetted.

it's not defense. it's a clear fact-finding response in view of your remark "get your fact right". so, i was getting the facts right for you. and as to not i summon you meaning that i have to be under hdb, that's a really myopic view.

let's see, so the any one who didn't summon you, they're all on hdb too? gee.

if your reasoning goes along those lines, then there are only 2 grps of ppl, those who did summon you, and are in hdb, or those who didn't summon you, but they're also in hdb. oh wait, that makes the whole singapore all under hdb.
