it depends on your outstanding amount and the price of the car that you are getting. If you can break even your aveo, then I think you can trade in your car liao. Its all about breaking even. You sure you want picanto or QQ? They are really small.

Yah, i understand. But right now i do not need a black plate car except in the weekends. And it is hard to get a rentee only on weekdays. the car has an outstanding of $415 x 55 months. Do you think is possible to get a trade on this?

why don you convert your black plate to red plate instead? You can get up to 1100 cash rebate half a year. One year up to $2200. THen you can drive on both sat and sun.

415x55=22825

if you can sell your current car for more than this price you can always change to a opc,why not consider to convert it to OPC?

damn it, i just bought my aveo 3 weeks ago. If not, I may consider working out something with you.

BTW, hows your FC for the AVEO? I can only get 11-12km/litre (Auto). The specs says 15km/L. I know its impossible to hit 15 but it seems a little too far from the official reading.

My car is about 4 over years old.

But to my understanding is that the cash rebate is not instant cash rebate, and i actually spend a bomb on this car already.

If i convert to OPC i will still be paying my outstanding installment.

It is possible but the driver has to be relax on the Accelerator. I used to drive QQ and i could step so hard yet the FC was still 18km/l. I did the same thing on Nissan March and it came to 16km/l. Now for aveo is different, i have to 'step and release' ( because my is aveo and my idle rpm timing is about 0.8), it will create a free-gear feeling and the car will travel by itself and speed can be maintained in constant. This will thus save petrol. If i try to drive aveo like the way i did on the other cars, chances are the FC will be so low.

Anyway, my best FC record was about 357.44km per 25l (Caltex 95)

Worst being 210 on 20 L (Stepped on my pedal like nobody's business)

I am also the type of driver who take it easy on the accelerator. Guess I have to learn how to tame this car. I always release the accelerator when i going down hill to save petrol. haha!

I will be happy to hit 13km/litre. I ever hit 16/lit on a Honda Jazz.

Cheers!

Bro you bought your car brand new is it? Another way is to pay the instalment until you breakeven. I guess it should be another 1 -2 years.

I think its not quite possible for you to convert while you are still under instalment. Cos the LTA rebate and finance will be quite complex.

Aveo depreciation is considered very low liao compared to other cars. Mine is about 3k per year only. (cheaper than some bikes). Usual japanese cars depreciate 4-5k.

Sorry just off topic for a while, what did you do to your car? (You said you spent a bomb on it).

I traded in with my CHERY QQ for this. IMHO, chery qq sucks big time. People who say QQ is nice must really try driving other cars.

ya lor... 15km/Litre is very good liao. BTW, TS..you traded your QQ for this Chevy. You say QQ no good yet you want to trade back to QQ again????

Dont make much sense here leh...

Yah, but money is the problem. It is like i don't have such a big head yet i wanted to wear a big hat. SLAP MY OWN HEAD...

Have you thought that trading down to a QQ may cost you even more money??? Cos this Aveo you will lose money, then you get another QQ you start to lose money again. Of course every time you change car, you have to pay transfer fees again, do maintenance again etc etc...Might be better off if you just tahan this aveo until scrap. Then you can get back at least 6-7 k
