Hey guys,

Got a problem/worry here.... Just now when traveling along Serangoon Road, I encountered a red light and quickly brake to stop. When the bike almost came to a complete stop, a car bang me from behind~! Okie I was at fault too cuz I cut into his lane but there's definitely more than enough braking distance since we are all traveling at about 50km/h in the jam.

The lucky thing is that I did not drop my bike. After the car banged my bike from behind, my bike was still upright. So we pulled to the side to check for damages. Visually, there is nothing wrong with my bike. Apparently, the car hit my rear tire only. This would have put my mind at ease. The reason that caused me to get worried is the damage to the car. His number plate broke and fell off, and there was quite a deep dent to his front bumper.

Based on his damages, I am guessing that the knock was quite hard. Though visually, there seem to be nothing wrong with the bike, I am just wondering if:

1. Is there anything that I should be worried about? Maybe alignments or anything that might break from this kind of knock?

2. Will my rear tire or rim be damaged?

Note: We decided not to pursue the matter, so no insurance claims will be involved. I just want to make sure that my bike is in good working condition and nothing breaks.... that is not something I want to be worried about when the speedo reads 200km/h....

Will deeply appreciate all kind advices.... Damn worried now... :(

Did u take down his ic and contact no.?

Anyhow is the car fault cos he bang ur butt. Then at least if u encounter any problem these few days with ur bike, can call him. At least this can settle the money matters if there is anything wrong.

As for the bike, if u can still stay upright means the impact is not that great on ur tires. Maybe jus take note on the joints ard the centre of the rim and spocket to see if anything is loose or dented. Actually depends on which angle the car hit u ba. Or bring to KnT to take a look. Clifford can diagnose better. Don tink he will charge u anything on helping u see see.

It didn't hit ur exhaust? Anyway our exhaust quite tough one.

Actually, from what u said, i feel it is his fault, coz he should be prepare to stop at red light, and not attempt to stop when bike (u) infront stop. Now that both party decide to let the matter rest, i guess no point talking about it anymore.

I really dont know what to check... let see, swing arm, wheel rotating for rim? check for hairline cracks at rim? , check screws for adjusting wheel/chain at the swingarm. Replace wheel bearing for safety, check for the rod at the front of the swing arm for bend (near the rear shock one)?

Maybe other can give good suggestions too ?

unless u suddenly serve into the cars lan and jam brakes otherwise the rule of thumb is anyone hit u from behind is their fault.

and yr bike should have any problem if the car onli hit yr tyre and the force is so small at 50km/h and u can stay upright after that so the air wll absorb ll the pressure (air can be compressed) . but if u jack up yr bike and spin the real tyre and its wobbly or not smooth then u go cahneg the bearings.. hope this helps

To the rest of the Busarians who r interested in expanding their storage space under the pillion seat, there's an adhoc MO ongoing for aftermarket undertray. PM Quizesilver for more details.

Nice knowing u too bro... After the 'physiotherapy' and 'surgical operation', the idling so far don jump jump liao. :cheeky:

Stayed at 1100rpm consistently.

For those who have similar problems, can try throttle bodies sync and also re-route their throttle air pipe. :thumb:

Don noe leh... I bought new last year sept. Last time worse.

RPM can drop till the bike die off while travelling on the road.

Then I went to K&T. Clifford modify the knob longer so that it extends out to the engine oil cap there for easy adjustment. But very hard to estimate.

Sometime turn to ard 1200rpm then when I put to neutral, the rpm shoot up to ard 1600rpm.

If turn below 1000rpm, got knocking sound then sometimes will die off.

My bike no mods.

1600???? tat's like wow!!

perhaps there's too much build up of carbon?

opps.. i tink tat will occur to my bike soon!

The throttle body sync to be done at 12k, if u got see manual sure got say one

u noe, my bike up till date is abt 29k in mileage but i haven really done any throttle body sync or wadsoeva.

So long as no injuries sustained, tat's gd enuff liao.

Juz observe ur ride the nxt few days. See if there's any abnormal noises coming from anywhere. Do ur own diagnostic test i.e. (rear brake) braking, check if there's any slight wobbling etc.

If still un-assured, den best is u bring it down to a mech to get ur bike check to set ur mind at ease.

Like wad problem child said, out exhaust is quite solid. If like u mentioned, the impact if frm the rear, most like e car would sustain more damages den u if he really knocked into ur rear/exhaust.

Judging frm wad friedfishz said, if he was still able to stay upright, its very likely tat the speed of the vehicle was rather slow n tat the impact shldn't coz much damage to the bike.

Buy bcoz the impact came directly frm the vehicle, more or less, tat fella shld sustain more impact as the bike was almost stationary.

But like wad quiz mention, rule of the thumb is tat any accidents tat occurred with someone kissing u from behind, its likely that the fella who kissed arse is at fault.

yeah come to tink of it, i feel that the pressure of the tire would have rebounded some impact instead of absorbing it fully.

go to report police and tell them the situation.

keep that report as a precaution of lawyer letter flying to you.

that there is a car who bang into you and agree on no pursue...

do a jack up on ur tire and spin it to see if any alignment gone else check on the chain marking where the axis is to see if they are the same.

sounds interesting..

there is a mo for undertray which is basically to remove your current mud flap for another one

by doing so as u can see from your current pillon seat, the storage space is confine by the spacing that is not accessable. after the swop to the aftermarket undertail, u will have more storage space min a full set of "OGK" rain coat + others stuff.

just imagine the whole tail u can put stuff inside.

i was told the cost of the under tail cost abt sgd150 without colour.

more details of the material of the undertray have to ask de mod as he is using it now.

pm me if you are interested. applies to the rest also.

The MO is not on this model and type of undertray. Please do not be confuse as there are a lot of different designs and brands around in the market. Will try to dig out the pic and post it up. Alternatively, the pic of wat I'm using was put up before by NA some time back.
