Hi

bascially is to adjust the clearence between the valve and the combustion chamber when it's close for the intake and exhush valve. Too big gap will result poor FC, loss power or even brunt ur valve.

Well, decided to bury the hatches and give one more cautious try.

Nope, that one was too expensive. I'm cash buyer, so I will wait the right time and opportunity. My Busa of course stays firmly with me for many years to come (or till Gen3 come out :-)).

Thanks for the explaination. My manual for the hayabusa recommends every 14k miles/22k km or 24 months. If you are planning to open the top part, might as well check your timing chain, timing chain tensioner. There is a specific tool to check the clearance for each individual shim for valve clearance,if its within the recommended specs from the manual. You are safe.Good luck.Cheerios.

You're welcome. Just curious, why not try other bike? I mean Gen 1 and Gen 2 to me is like riding a same bike with minor facelift. Personally I will always like to try different brand/model if I have a chance to do so. Of course it just my opinion. Anyway good luck to your new purchase!

Any GEN2 owner interested to install HID but worry about the glaring isse? Well it won't!

I got bored recently and decided to try out HID. I did consider the legal and glaring issue but decided to go ahead anyway after a detail read up in Hayabusa.org forum says there isn't any glaring issue. Plus I got quite a good deal on the HID set, so why not.

My plan is to install the HID on the Lo beam (yes, always on) and install manual switch to off it for just in case situation. I shall skipped the installation step. It can be found at this link, click me, with proper steps.

HOWEVER, do note the HID which the Ang Mo is using, is from DDM Tuning. Their bulb although H7, comes with a extra plastic behind. Those normal H7 which you order from EBAY usually doesn't comes with the extra plastic. The extra plastic is similar to the extra socket which the normal halogen bulb is being plugged onto before assembly onto the headlight. Without this extra plastic, you will need to improvised on the bulb to provide secure fitment and waterproofing.

Anyway straight to the point. Noticed a cut off point where the light is being shined on the wall? This means the light will not anyhow shine like the normal retro fit HID does. Tried riding at night and the light will not shine into the passenger compartment of the front car. Neither will it blind the on coming cars. If compared to my friend's FJR, his HID is shining all over the place. That is called irritating.

And this is where I placed my switch. No additional bracket. Just double-sided tape on the side and place it at the gap as shown.

Hope this serve as good reference for those who wanted to go into the HID route. However if you place the HID at the Hi Beam, based on my understanding, it will cause glaring. So got to take note.

Thanks for sharing. It depends on the angle of the bulb.Maybe FJR bulb cant be adjusted.I also advise on the durability of the bulb and the ballast. The availability of spares if either one is faulty.Best option able to find it locally to save time and money.

From my understanding, the reflector in the headlights determine it. There is a cap in front of the bulb that is reflecting the light thrown back into the rear reflector. I believe this cap helps a lot in preventing glaring.

I bought a pair, thus having a spare now. But it those fat ballast type hence cheap. Lucky busa has a lot of space.
