just talk to the shop and negotiate how you can pay the extra $200. anyway you are paying for more coverage. like what bro contrarian said, the shop has the right to tell you what policy to make (meaning if you too guai lan with them, they can make you do comprehensive policy too!)

for those who suggest you to go bang table or call police, you should jio them to go down to the bike shop with you. let them do the dirty job for you?

good luck!

Technically, the bike shop is not makan-ing your money. They just made a mistake in buying you a higher level of insurance.

My suggestion is to just pay up the difference. It benefits you and you build a better rapport with the bike company. That, to me, is invaluable.

Asset ?? ..more like liability bro :)

Agreed.....still need to pay for insurance, road tax, petrol, parking, ERP....etc etc...

It can only be an asset if you rent the bike out.

actually it's quite very much a liability. so many mechanical problems with it already. pay until sian.

rode for just 1 month, piston jam. ok, top overhaul.

after replacing new piston and ring, there's still the same abrasive noise from my engine. the mech says it's normal. after a month's riding, i went to another mechanic to change EO, and he remarked that my bike was unusually loud, saying it might be the oil pump problem, my engine isn't being properly lubed. so...omg. i've heard changing oil pump will require overhaul? my friend told me it'll set me back 1k.

think you should ask for more opinions before doing another overhaul. just be a bit skeptical when mechanic asks you to overhaul because that's how workshops earns their $$.

I'd appreciate any advice anyone can offer here!

I bought my 2B bike 2nd hand off XX shop, where the guy quoted me 3rd party insurance. Paid up everything and I thought everything's settled.

Now, I just got a call from the shop saying it's actually 3rd party fire and theft and that I have to make payment for the difference, about $200. Checking my insurance papers confirmed this. I don't think it's fair that I was originally quoted for 3rd party but they signed me up for 2nd and that now 2 months later they ask me to pay the difference.

Problem is, the insurance papers are 3rd party fire and theft which I didn't really check upon buying the bike. BUT the price we agreed on was for 3rd party. So should I pay the difference? Any legal implications if I refuse to pay? I'm still under installment with the shop also...

sian X 1000

3rd party with fire and theft is better for bike under installment...

who would like to continue paying for an imaginary bike if its stolen and cant be found...
