Okay.. as usual the culprit is the driver for the network adapters.

 

b4 i install the driver, icon was a yellow question mark in device manager.

 

after installing the driver, icon is gone and replaced by an authentic adapter pic.

 

thing is, there is still no internet!!!!!!!!! damn frustrated. my LAN status states connected. but still no internet.

 

i tried with my another pc cable, also no internet. pls help

 

first time facing such a problem. damn jialat.

Have you tried using the network adapter drivers from the official site? Worse comes to worst, reformat again bah.

Taking troubleshooting step by step:

 

1. Check to see if your network card is ok, and that the driver is the right one too

 

  • Click "Start" >> "Run.." (or press the Windows + R keys anywhere)

  • Type in "cmd". This will start the Command Prompt

  • Start typing in:
    ping 127.0.0.1

  • If it says -
    Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=__ time
    <__ms ttl="__[/color]" your network card is okay and it probably that you need to do something about internet router singtel settings.>
  • If it says something else (i.e.)
    Unknown error
    , then the driver for the LAN card is wrong, or worse but in rare cases, your network card is defective

 

2. If your network card is okay as described above, next step is to go to your internet router. Are you able to log-in to the router? We need to see what are its settings. This step is usually accomplished by the network technician when he first sets up your router in your home.
