how to free a stuck fuel cap

i'm on an rxz, got a stuck fuel cap problem with just enough fuel to get me home. anyone knows how to free a stuck fuel cap?? key turns fine, just that the latch seems stuck

spray wd 40 into the key hole try turn it

 

after open spray wd 40 into the latch, exercise it...........

i just sprayed chain lube in it since i couldn't get my hands on some wd40. turning it countless times but to no avail. will let it sit for a while before resuming my attack on the holE!

do u feel the stub inside turning when u turn the key? try pushing the cap inwards when u turn the key.

guess it turns a little but not all the way. could just be the latch that's stuck...
