Internal HDD died :'(

As above.. my computer( bios thing ) doesn't read the drive.. tried swapping data cables etc. still don't work..

 

Its my main drive with the OS on it, so my computer can boot up now. Any way to bring it back to life? :/

Mechanical failure.. I guess it ki qia already.. lol.

 

2 - 3 years old. Haven't tried those..

Eek. Sometimes its nice to get some freeware HDD tools. Monitor the SMART status monthly which will hopefully give you indications on its possible failure in advance, based on number of missed read/writes, mech. performance, etc.

 

Sisoft Sandra is useful for that, sometimes HDD manufacturer has some diagnostic programs too.

 

Using a 5 year old Samsung without a single reformat for 5 years.

Bro, think you need a 3-leaf-clover as a lucky charm, a USB casing to extract the HDD into, and maybe software such as Recuva [link] for best-effort rescue of your files in there
