hi,

I'm riding an old yamaha 2-stroke DT 200R,..coe till 2013-April.

Is this bike worth restoring ?

recently, experienced following,

May 27th,fuel-tap leaking,change tap for S$38/-

.weld-hole in fuel tank,.S$ 16/-

.and in last week,..fuel tank leaking again :(((

Engine still feels powerful,..easy to kick-start

I prefer the kick-start system to the button-start

Is anyone out there, keen to help me restore this bike ?

I think maybe, can keep for the next 10, 20 years,..Yes ? No ?

Appreciate Good Advice, Thanks

What is the motive for the restoration ? To sell or to keep ?

In all honesty, the DT200 is not really a sought after bike, so with all the money throw into the restoration, you are unlikely to recoup your investment.

If you are keeping it, and slowly doing it up as a project then it should be fun.

Please post some pics.

Restoring...always easy to say, but the amount of time and $$$ that might go in eventually might not be worth the effort.

Unless for some good reasons, the $$$ and time is better spent on another bike. :)

I got a sh*t 1st bike, which i wont say I restored. But the twice monthly breakdowns is more than enough to make me look for another one.
