CBR400 issue

Hi guys, hope to share yr expertise with my recurring problem.

 

my bike could crank start normally with pretty constant idling. While stationery, it would just killed off randomly meaning, the rpm suddenly drop to zero. However, as i am riding, the engine would just died off and restart automatically.

 

few things that are alrdy checked: engine on/off switch and side stand sensor, earth wire, spark plug cable. All working properly. Anyone has this problem or expertise to share?

do u mean s4 cdi and cbr400 cdi is the same configuration?

as long as bike dont stall or have the problem u face...any 4 cylinder engine with the same cc will do...we are not testing for performance..we are looking for faulty parts..s4..cbr..cbrr etc etc...

yes, just plug and plug, only different the rev limit will be lower.

i nv try using the V4 CDi on the inline-4 engine before

i would do the easier stuff first..

go through the components in the spark firing process and test out one by one..

the fuel pump could be faulty..not delivering enough petrol.

clean your filter..

for intermitten fault it is really a hasstle..

may i suggest that u idlle the engine...when it stalls..try to restart immedialy

if cannot...then check for spark..

if confirm no spark coming on...u bet that the fault is somewhere along the spark generation circuit..i had this problem once and had most frustrating time . it took me 6 months of going to bike shop.mind u i had it towed countless times over that period.to figure out the faulty part..cdi

There is a safety switch at the side stand. Sometimes the switch gets jammed up by chain grease and spoilts easily. Check that.

hi guys....would like to know wat is the yellowish gum flowing out?a noob question...the cdi is located at the pillion seat below...because i noticed got yellowish thing flowing out from there....i tot who put honey on my bike recently
