For Sp, for each brake caliper there are two pistons. Each piston consist of two seals.

Inner seal are known as oil seal, function to prevent brake fluid from leaking out.

Outer seal are known as dust seal, function to prevent dust from getting in.

After removed the brake pad, U can

1. Visually inspection - u should not see the dust seal.

2. Depress the brake lever(Front) or pedal(Rear) - Both piston should move together.

Piston dont spoil so easily, just change the seal will do.....

I had a jammed brake piston the other day. I just went to change the pad (ground it down to silver dust lol) and the mech couldn't reset the position of the piston, so he took it apart, did things to it, and put it back together. Much better now.

If they like your face they don't charge you a lot to service the piston. (they didn't charge extra)

Otherwise..... $80 or something.

its actually quite an easy job.... just buy the seals and go home and do it yourself... and brake fluid...

brake system is very critical for a bike..

if TS dun noe anything abt it, better get a trusted mech to do it and learn from it before trying to diy..

I flip through the manual its quite a handy work but trouble is having the right tools for the job. Objective is to get it done, not creating more problem.

bike is a machine without soul, rider would inject new life and character to this machine
