But to be a good rider, you have to change with your environment, and adjust yourself to its rhythm.

We all went through what you're going through. I had a headache on finding bike too...the most scary part is the first ride home after doing the transfer. haha.

One thing to remember...DON'T RUSH. Better spent months finding your perfect bike than spent weeks to find bike and months to headache over the problems the bike has.

For route wise, I always check on gothere.sg to plan the route first before I head out. Usually take a photo of it to remember turn where. :o

And I always keep a book of street directory on my bike!

GPS waterproof...I think have, but it's quite useless...Singapore is only so big, explore around if you're lost! :)

Plan the route before hand. The hard part is to get yourself onto the expressway, once you're on expressway I'm sure you will know how to get home easily. :)

If really no confidence, can tow bike home also. Safer choice.

I remember that time after I did the transfer of my phantom, the seller asked me to practice riding a few rounds in the car park first. He went off with his friend on a RXZ after seeing me ride in the car park for 2-3 rounds. The first time I move off on phantom, my bike handle was wobbling like crazy at slow speed. 1 month never ride + new style of riding makes me no confident at all. I went around the car park for ~6 times before I had the courage to move out onto the road. Bike became more manageable at higher speeds, but every time I brake I will get flung forward a bit. Lucky enough I turn at the right places and got myself onto the expressway...after that was smooth ride home...all the way on the most left lane.

For me, i wasn't confident enough to ride my bike back from ubi to west side, so instead i call for tow. I waited for about an hour to two for my bike to arrive below my house, then i went to collect it and started riding. Towing fee would range from about 20 to 30 dollars. I felt the price paid was worth it, rather risking that money to ride on a new bike back from east to west with no familiarization with the roads and the bike.
