is it getting from bad to worst?

Another question, do they still provide the helmets?

Definitely no "free" helmets anymore, they stopped that last year. They had a few you could rent on a per session basis, but they may have stopped that too, anyway, you're better off buying one.

Latest from CDC for those taking class 2, they will be changing the class 2 bikes later this month. The instructor wasn't sure what bikes they will be getting, but apparently also 600cc. He was also not sure as of what date the TP tests will be taken on the new bikes.

Walaooo ehhhhhh. Hahah wonder what bike. Xj6? They seem to have an affiliation with yammy.

More importantly - how many bikes, I think only 3 of the FZ-6 are currently working, one of the reasons slots are so hard to get at CDC.

For reference, it took me a little more than 3 weeks to pass lesson 1-3, and I was checking the system all the time for cancellations, etc.

i finished my prac 1 on 18/11 monday.. when i go to book my prac 2 the earliest slot i could get is 01/12 -_-

Yup, there are 6 new xj6 bikes there, two of them are fitted with blinker lights and may be for instructors only. Used one of them for circuit revision today, but others used the old fz6n. Instructors do not know when the new bikes will start to be used for TP, or if riders will have a choice of bike.

Anyway, next available test date is now 7-Feb....

7 feb?! wa lau eh. so even if i pass my lesson 3 still gotta wait till feb dahell.. -_-

Next available is now 14-Feb, and basically nobody ever cancels TP as you do not get a refund. Camping for TP dates simply doesn't work - if you have already booked, even if an earlier date comes up you cannot refund your later booking, so you end up paying twice. And camping without an active booking is just stupid, more often than not you will end up with an even later date, because as I said, almost nobody cancels.

I really like the new XJ6.

More responsive compared to the fazer (maybe cos the FZ is old and badly abused).

Easier to start.

Feels stable at very low RPMs (plank, slalom, preparing to chg lanes at gear 1 idling).

Can surge forward even at low RPMs, good for exiting courses and changing lanes.

Can go quite low without dragging parts (tried in fig 8 --> crank course --> fig 8).

Can go over bumpy without throttle (throttle for added security though).

Good full-lock turning radius.

Brakes not spongy yet.

But still burns my thighs.

On 1 of the bikes with blinker, the steering feels weird. Used it for warmup. Maybe something to do with the steering cone?

Interesting, would be enrolling At CDC soon after hearing about the new bikes...

About burning of thighs, guess can't be avoided unless it's open roads... suffered when taking 2A at SSDC.
