Yes! The front gave interest in me and also the spacious amount of storage space. Anyway thanks Tyson for the info. However I'm more interesed to know the average cost of full service i.e. change of belt, rollers, etc

Mind giving some insights?

Is Joymax new in SG (i.e. this year)?

How high is the seat? Higher than Burgman but lower than Runner? :)

2011-Present: SilverWing SW-T400

2003-2011: X9 Evo

1. I believe the front eye brow will be the trade mark for SYM scoots in the future. It has already been patented by SYM.

2. The storage space can accomodate 1 open face helmet and 1 half cap rain coat, and some small tools.

3. Have not check out the cost of belting and rollers yet. But I believe the average cost of full service i.e. change of belt, rollers, etc will be in the region of less $200. GTS200 full service cost less than $150.

Thanks Tyson for keeping this thread going with all the useful info :thumb: This scooter looks really nice. So is Mah the only place selling it now?

You are welcome. Hope this thread can attract like minded scooterist to share info about the beauty of Joymax also the pros and cons of it.

Ah Mah is the sole agent of Joymax. But I advise you get from the distributors. Becasue you will have problem getting a vaccancy to service your bike at Ah Mah. Their customer service sucks big time! They only know how to sell.

Such a big organisation but with tiny customer service.

Been there 3 times wanting to service my Joymax but everytime the frontesk would said the workshop has been full pls come morning! WTF!! Damn!! Pui Pui chao ah mah!!!

Up till know I dont get a chance to service my bike at Ah Mah.

Fortunately I got my Joymax else where and I end up done my 1st servicing at the shop where I got my Joymax from. Their service is excellent! Small shop but big big customer care and aftersale service!

So my advise to all the potential Joymaxers, pls avoid Ah Mah. At least if you buy it from else where, you still can go back to the bike shop that will help you solve the technical problem should you encounter any.

I will rather pay a bit more than getting any bike from Ah Mah in the future.

To potential Joymaxers. You can actually fix the IU inside the glove box. No drilling is require and the wiring isnt messy.

I had my IU put inside the glove box. What my mechanic did was using 3M tape to stick the IU at the top part of the glove box.

Another advantage for puting the IU is that you can lock the glove box hence preventing thief of cash card be lost even if you had forgotten to take it out.

It works fine when passing through the ERP or EPS gantry. So far I do not encounter any problem.

Hope you will find this tip helpful.

1. Joymax is new sg. Started selling on Jun2010. Joymax is relatively a new model from SYM which was only in sale on 2009 in Taiwan. It is the highest SYM scooter model that SYM has created so far. It is a further development fro RV250 or GTS250 (in sg) which has been in Taiwan market for quite many years already. So I trust that the reliabilty on Joymax will be as good as RV250 or GTS250.

You can view a short clip about Joymax develoment here :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XlPKL-o_I5o

2. The seat for Joymax is same as GTS. It is higher than Burgman but lower than Runner. I will say Burgman have more comfortable as the seat is very very low.

Thanks Tyson. Does it have box accessory or need to get a Givi?

1. Accessory? haha ...yes it come with only 1 screw driver.

2. It come with 1 pessanger back rest. But if you are fitting a top box then the pessanger back rest will need to be dismental and be replace by the top box.

3. For me, I had replaced a GIVI box mounted on with the bracket. Requested it for free.

4. SYM scooter not easy to get extenal accessory. Not just in sg, but other country also facing the same problem.

I hope to get a taller windshield but I couldnt find it anywhere in sg.

Spare parts are cheaper than Jap and Euro bike and it is easily available.

Parts are cheaper, yes. Easily available, depends on whether distro has stock. Not as widely available as Japanese bikes.

Nexus may be cheaper to buy than Joymax but in the long run, you will end up paying more as the parts and maintenance are high cost for Nexus.

Cheaper? Not really. Probably same price as Joymax during promo. Regular servicing (Oil change, filter) is in the range of

In fact I had read somewhere, that chinese scooters dont really to run on fully syn as the regular oil change is more important than the grade of oil. So I am convinced that I will use a lower grade oil for my future oil change. Perhaps semi syn or lower.

Misleading. Never ever use full synthetic oil during run-in. Only semi synthetic. Change to fully synthetic after run-in. This ensures a good ring seal.

And yes I do agree the review is extremely one-sided. Not really helping forum members here.

1. Very simple. Is keeping a Nexus cheaper or keeping a Joymax cheaper in the long run. You do the maths. (spare parts, FC, air filter, oil filter ect) For your information, Joymax does not need oil filter replacement. Air filter replacement, yes.

2.Misleading? Maybe you have not read this http://www.mobil.com.sg/Singapore-English/LCW/Products_Services/Automotive/Mobil1_Myths.asp

You may want to read up and see who is the one misleading. Is it Mobil or otherwise?ha.

If you dont find this topic neither useful nor helpful to you, it doesnt mean that it will not benefit others. If you know of cons of the Joymax, pls share t with me and to others here because I hate supprises while I am riding.

If you got nothing good nor constructive to contibute at this forum, I suggest it will be better for you to just read and not post anything.

No offence.

If you ask me? Joymax is more expensive due to the depreciation value. But then again, that's just me.

Nice mobil website selling mobil products. A much debated topic, but the general consensus is that you do not use fully synthetic oil for breaking in. Tried and tested, but hey, what do I know right? By the way, so many websites debating but you only show the one by Mobil. Here. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=break+in+fully+synthetic

I see that you are still bitter when others weigh the pro and cons between Joymax and other scoots. Ok ok. Joymax is the best maxi scoot currently. Happy?

Hmm...seems like you are far ..far .out of the topic and you are not heading my advise.

Please read the heading again 'Joymax 300i EVO - Review'

You have nothing constructive to post about Joymax. I am not replying.

And please kindly don't take me so seriously.

But if you like helping and pushing this topic to the top, I thank you in advance.

The Joymax tempreture always stays at 2 bars whereas my previous GTS always stays at 1 bar. Not sure whether there anything that I should be concern about.

I just crossed 1000km. Did 2nd EO & GO change. Now slowly increasing my speed nearing to the 100km/h mark. Can feel the stiffed engine getting smoother each day.

any cons so far for this scooter? a good unbiased reviewer always includes the cons.

Sorry I am not a good reviewer. As you can see, there are some who do not like what I had commented about Joymax.

Anyone like to try ?

Congrats! Finally there is another Joymaxer!

Wah bro you got a good buy. Cheaper than me. May I know how old are you? Is your ins 1st party or 2nd party?9k is a good buy.

To prolong the engine life, my advise is not to rev your engine to hard for the first 1000km. Manual stated change EO and GO for at 300km.

Another tips on Joymax; If you turn your rear suspension to the maximum (left turn), you will notice a more comfortable and not so bumpy ride. That's what I had did on mine Joymax. You will need mehcanic to do it as it may require special tools to turn the thing.

Yo, 37yrs with 2nd party. Think it cost abt $264. How much you have brought yours?
