Hi, i'm riding a hornet 9. Hope my answers help..

1.) FC varies from 16 to 18 km per litre. I accelerate hard and travel 90% on minor roads with lots of traffic light and i still get 16km/l.

2.) Pro is the enormous amount of torque this bike has. Riding position is great. Great design. Unique bike. Easy and low on maintenance. Cons nothing much except the bike runs a bit rich and stock exhaust note sounds wimpy. Can be resolved with a PC III and after market exhaust thou. Tons of legal st exhaust out there. =)

3.) stock brakes are good but after market ones are always better =) I ran mine on brembo 19X20 and the braking is real good. would recommend exhaust + pc III to unleash the hornet's full power too.

Have fun hunting your hornet 9. i might let go mine too cause upgrading.. still considering..

Does the exhaust run hot since it is underseat exhaust, especially for pillion? Used to ride 04 R1 and found the exhaust can be a real pain in the arse in heavy traffic.

nope. does not run hot at all. with the original heat shield, you can even place your hand on it. it just feels a little warm. cooler than a cup of freshly brewed coffee. lol.

the warmest occur when the radiator fan is on. but that is also very tolerable. the heat feels like coming from a super 4 only.

haha thanks bro. i think its the character of the bike which i'm getting used to it. i like to ride it thru the street coz the low end power is great!

anyway is it normal for the fuel needle to stay at full even i had travelled abt 100km??

haha bro ur signature abt the RVF is funny, i think RVF stands for Really Very Fast thats y the high price. :cheeky:

Yeah for me satays full till about 124 to 150 than it starts to drop good milage la the bike. Dont worry about your cooling system all working man.

haha true man. the shield is merely a cover but can be mistook as the exhaust. anyway it make the bike look great :cheeky:

when the radiator fan on it feels warm and tolerable even on hot sunny afternoon, mine the heat blow out from left side so my left leg always warm..

bro get a hel bake hose, abit pricey @ 70 , but its really one of the best investments for your bike, the braking really changes, lots of brake feel, and much much less spongynesss.

called bikeworks regarding the brake hose they are charging 130 for both front and back brake hoses. think i'll do up the front brake coz if rear brake too powerful oso dangerous :cheeky:

wil be goin down to bikeworkz this fridae :thumb:

anyway tried the bike without baffle and it sounds like R1,literally. the idling is low bassy tone but crusing at 90km/h sounds the same as stock, only low rpm sounds loud. .will try to see whether it improve fc not.

will take a video of stock and without baffle exhaust sound. stay tuned :thumb:

anyway i juz pump caltex95. hit 303km with 12litres of fuel, FC ard 25km/l. i think the reserve is abt 3-4litres. Does Hornet250 have fuel RESERVE switch????

Nope i think the older model have yours new one dont have. The secret of the baffle will stay wif me la bro than next time at least your bike can fetch higer value casue have specially add on. In any case steel braid hose dont make braking better but rather it helps from brake fade from over heat. So tat your brake perform consistanly all the time.

hmm well i think steel brake hose also removes spongyness because the metal does not flex like the rubber under pressure.

true it dosent help braking per-se, but 100% helps braking feel, and in turn better braking control.

also less effort to pump the calipers to a more locked position

my 2 cents at least :)

thanks for the input bros!!!the steel brake hose prevent flex and allow max pressure front the pump to the brake caliper so that the brake pads can grip the disc more effectively.

I am going to change the front brake hose tml at bikeworkz and goin to rewrap seat at aunty shop! so many things to do..arhh....

anyway i've sort of found out abt the vibration on my bike, i realise my left handlebar vibrates more than my right handlebar, lookin ard i found that the left side of the headlight there is a missing screw, so the headlight is only hold on by the right side screw. went to bought the screws and tighten both side. only manage to test up to 70km/h as i rode on small roads, so far the vibes seems to be even out, will try again tml on cruising speed...

Hi guys, i'm considering getting a hornet 900. Got a few questions about the bike for those who ride it.

1. How's the FC for the bike?

2. Pros and Cons?

3. Anything i should take note after buying, eg. upgrading brakes or anything?

Sixer is right with the reply to your questions..

18km/L

Really full bike to ride.. Goes anywhere... My H900 been with me for 5yrs.

No reason to change...

Bike takes good care of me.. Spore or Laos..

Original Brakes are great

May need to replace the pad if it is old.

Battery change a yr+ when the start cranking is slower...

Quite a few owners like a louder exhaust.. I'm fine with original.

Like to listen to the wind..

Talking about the exhaust... Just warm.. No a problem for pillon.

Enjoy.. Thought I say a new one in Mah sometime ago..

But always a 2nd hand one would appear...
