Hi guys...

I am facing repair issue on my HORNET250.

I have decided to keep the bike for good.... disregard the current problem... which is a leaking engine and an OVERHEATING Radiator....

Any good lobang on location to have the bike service ?

I have found a brand new radiator from "AH BOY" which cost about S$100-S$200.

As for the O RING, on the leaking engine,... my mechanic gave me the p/no. 12392- KT7 and 12391 -kEA. .... but, i am unable to find it in the internet... for spares..

Need some genuine HORNET250 LOVERS OUT THERE FOR HELP!

Thanks and Cheers!

i think its possible. either plug n play, or very little mods. honda known to have similar, if not the same parts for its models.

the fork is the same size.. just slot in the forks i think..

Btw, anyone wanna buy oil filter for their 250?

I would be delighted if its made with such versatility... :) so that Hornet chances of survival are high!

LOL so long the problem can be identified and rectified would be OK. Very lasting H250 too. Till now its more than 10 years too.

Anyone know where I can get a new tail board??

ya.. bought a few items off ebay already.. i wonder it the hornet 919 tail can be fixed onto the 250 not..

possible H250 using the same frame as H600, H900 same as H600... chances of fixing the tail is there. H9 rear lamp is flush and nice... ebay got LED version of it.

they r using similar frames.. not exactly the same.. 900 is beefier then the 600.. n 600 is beefier then the 250.. engine mounting points r oso diff due to diff engine size

Hi Mild_Slevin,

Wow... Your contact list is impressive.!

I have finally managed to find the parts that i am looking for.... Yes... it's NOT cheap but, ... very happy to know that H250 parts are STOCKS HEALTHY in Singapore.

I have already sent in my Hornet 250 to my uncle mechanic workshop yesterday... and hopefully the bike should be ready by this Saturday or so...

(really very much looking forward to the 'recovery' of the bike to it's peak performance condition once again!)

Anyway, i got the parts from both Boon Siew and FJT. Parts sold here are HONDA ORIGNALS and ... i would say that the service rendered by both locations are wonderful.... ! :-) Courteous and helpful...! Thumbs up to both BOON SIEW and FJT..!:thumb:

Okay then, probably i will only changed my HORNET 250 when HONDA comes out with new version of 250cc bike which catches my attention and interest.... hahahhaha!:cheeky:

Cheers to all H250 riders out there!

Yah, u remind me of one technical differences in the frame "900 vs 600". No doubt the frame is "similar" but thickness of the frame has been increased for 900.

Perhaps can try take some measurement?

LOL Honda did introduce a new breed of 250 naked bike known as "VTR" but its a P.I. (Parallel Import) bike. You can check out its detail on Honda Japan site, its a mini ducati monster look alike.

Me too tried calling all of them to check out on the parts for my H9... but not within my budget. If you need parts you can try "BikeWerk" at Kaki Bukit, Shun Li industrial so long the boss able to get the stuff it would be very competitive in pricing.

Who knows we might meet up for a kopi n look around at our "babes"? This hornet nest are small n unique.

*Kuro, had a nice durian outing? Rather amaze by the efforts of Quincy and gang for organizing such a big event. :thumb: The liew lian puff were tasty!

Hi there once again!

Wow... finally, after all the misery of finding the parts.... there she is... installed with the new Radiator.... with a newly flushed.... coolant systems... and.... with 4 new sets of O ring onto the leaking engine... and fully serviced and back in business.... Hooray....!

Just got my Hornet250 from the bike workshop and.... it feels so.... good to see that the bike in it's IDEAL Peak Performance condition again...!

It's definitely worth the Money spent on the servicing and repairs after soo... many years of problem free riding....! (just like my previous Honda Steed which i rode for about 11yrs without any engine or wiring problem) :cheeky:

Beside having a higher fuel consumption as compare to other 250cc... and with a more 'expensive' but quality parts.... I strongly believed that the Hornet 250 is one of the most Outstanding piece of machinery... among it's class...

Hi there Mild_Slevin,

Yeah... i saw the VTR250 over the internet and... i am interested to get it actually.... I have been looking around the island for the bikes.... but, so far... i don't seem to see it ... even if it's parallel import....

If you have seen the bike in singapore, care to advice where can i find... btw, what is the price like....

I was hoping that Boon Siew will bring in the bike ... so that buyers don't have to worry about spare parts....

Cheers!

hey rapid, so how much u spent? thinking wanna overhaul my hornet also.. XD.. piston rings perhaps..

Well Kuro_Tenshi,

I have less than S$700. (partially beco's i managed to get cheaper parts... HONDA original , of course)

So, there is some savings in that manner... if not, i estimate perhaps... it will cost me an additional of close to S$200.

You wanna 'overhaul' your H250? That sounds ... 'scary'. Why need to do that? Do you have any experience or idea how long would that take?

Do let me know where and how much to get those done... perhaps for my future needs... heehee.

Sad to say I has yet seen any VTR on the road before. Even the much older version VTR are hardly seen. Looi's Moter and Mah Motor are P.I. specialist I heard they have a way to bring in the vehicle. But not sure what are the additional fees that shall borne by buyer. Parts wise I believe B.S. have their way to acquire from Japan HQ, but you might have to wait. :thumb:

using Koso mirrors on my H9 cos the stock mirror came off the stem. not so good for me personally. tighten the nuts but it still vibrates, hence, a blurred rear view. and also not properly lengthed. i gotta tilt my head a bit more to have a better view. stylish but not practical.

i would suggest u stick to stock or go expensive like rizoma or something similar.

Thanks for the feedback, was rather curious as I seen quite a number of bikes with koso mirrors. Rizoma mirror, any of ur frenz use them before?

Currently I'm using SF rectangular mirror, pretty good but with some damages.

hmm.. just received my new brake pump.. gonna install it tml and try.. way overkill i think.. the reservoir alone is almost the size of my phone.. :cheeky:

Front/rear brake pump? OEM? What happen to the previous pump?

Hi all,

I have recently observed that the HORNET250 Coolant Reservior tank(Spare tank) seems to be flowing out from somewhere.... (suspect from overflow/drain line) whenever i try to top up to the fullest.

Is this normal?

What was left behind is the amount shown here in the attachment. I was told that this is normal according to my mechanic.... however, I still finds it a little bit funny... or rather strange..! heehee.

Also, how do u guys... H250 riders out there... fill up or.. top up the coolant... I mean.. how often... ?

Please advise with comments... Thanks!
