Hi spectrum..

the one i'm using now is also dunlop d208. but i'm not sure abt the letter behind.. bought at $155 front n $200 rear. buy a set shld be cheaper.. so far i feels its v good for normal day riding.. though it does feel bouncy at times, which i tink its becos of the pressure. but it does feel stable n sticks to the ground.

the previous i use is metzeler sportec m1. tat.. i feel its v good.. v sticky, especially when its hot.. v good for road n tracks..

but downside, its ex $450 (now cheaper) n hav short life,i only use its for abt 6+ months.

some of my opinion. hope it helps.. :bounce: :bounce:

PASSION : Strong emotion, Great enthusiasm.

The tire's compound is designed to heat up quickly while providing a high degree of grip even at very high operating temperatures. The tread is designed to allow excellent water dispersion with the "negative tread area" lessening towards the tire's shoulder, putting more rubber on the tarmac at extreme lean angles never achieved in the wet.

Some favourable comments from the Net on the Metzeler sportec m1.

But Comments from our bikers would be relative to our cond in Spore.

Did check price for Pirelli Diablo $400+

Bridgestones BT014 $380

Dunlop D208F $320*

Made my choice*... the old tyres I had ran for 11000km(2 yrs)

(guess the trip to Thailand took its toll)

But when it harden... the wear becomes uneven...

Strange... my back tyre kind of flatten in the middle.

(mech says due excessive tyre pressure... me use recommended 290k,

think it is just age)

Did a run round Marina South...

New Tyres definately let me take the corners with more confident

& faster.:thumb:

Guess VerR & Ocearth will still over take me....

But with my new D208F... it's gonna be more difficult...

Hi Maverick,

Coolant System

Under my seat there is a reserve tank.

U can check the coolant Level there.

Done at normal operating temperature.

Bike should be upright.

Top up coolant @ reserve tank cap not radiator cap.

Insufficent coolant would cause excessive temp.:thumb:

Will check up with the mec...

Any one can help... H250 riders.

Currently, reserve tank still got coolant...

Now one of the metal pipes for the coolant also got traces of coolant. So, it's another case of leaking coolant.

I've always touch the coolant pipes that circulate and found them to be warm... so i suppose coolant is still flowing...

However, i think i haven chk the oil filter part... cos i think i have forgotten to change my oil filter for 2 oil change liao... so it could be due to that...

Most likely, will go for an oil and filter change this week or early next week... Would appreciate if get to know mech's opinion also...

Maybe it's a sign to change bike liao...

When u Chg Oil Filter.. u can still keep the Oil if it is new.

Save $.

One more thing, U may want to check or replace your thermostat.

It automatically opens the valve for the coolant to flow when the Temp goes up...

Spoke to a guy riding a S4... says gets pretty hot after a few traffic lites...

Any other S4 owners have the same experience???

Hi Stanboy,

Handling the Hornet 900 is wonderful. So far in Singapore Road, going at about 110km/h only requires the 5th Gear. I have problems controlling the responses of the bike running at 6th Gear. 5th gear has more response to trottle action.

TPs are all over the thus I prefer to have it on 5th gear so as to prevent my self from over speeding although it does consume more petrol but the bike revolution and the engine sounds smoother at 5th rather than at 6th Gear.

Going at 140km/h is no sweat. But be careful that the bike is lighter then you may experience. So far, I only managed about 160km\h in Singapore Roads.

I carry both a box and a large Givi wind-shield thus making it slightly slower than the rest but for the ease of transportation, I rather keep them both unless otherwise.

The wind-shield is great for blocking the wind. But because of my IU I had to mount it slightly off to the right. Nevertheless, I feel easy when going at 140km\h.

Acceleration on the 1st Gear may be slightly strange; damn slow; Repsol 200 is so much faster than me. Maybe, I do not have a habit to drag my gears. Thus my hypothesis is that it really depends on the rider.

I have done it once with first gear and managed to hit about 100km\h at close to 8500rpm. I tried it slowly not ramping it.

Hornet 900 is a pretty fast responsive bike. Personally, I prefer to make use of the 2nd Gear to pull through most jams. Gives me more power to accelerate whenever necessary. But I do get stalled engines behaviours in the morning hours.

I hate waiting for my engine to warm. Moreover, I then to save petrol by reducing the idieling speed. Well I know that this is bad. But may consider to adjust it higher when the petrol prices drops by 20 cents per litre.

hi there,

I am sure you are enjoying your hornet 900. I have had my experience recently and still running in at 1500 kilometres.

Can't wait to hit the 2000km cap and with a better oil, I may be going to KL next month end. Hope to get some friends to come along cause all my initial Kakis are busy or away from Singapore.

Aiya... Now then U say... Brought Dunlop Tyre Already Ah...:giddy:

Hi Media Velocity,

Welcome to the team!

The Hornet 900F is one nice bike to ride...

Bike has a lot of pwr, very responsive.

U can move of in 1st or 2nd gear -(plenty of Pwr)

There should be no problem with cold eng...

Not really a need to warm up for mine.

Just start & Pull... (manual of course recommend a warm up period)

Spore is quite warm.

The jerky eng is due to the Fuel Injection Sys at Low spd.

Same for most Fuel Inj bike.

Put in more throttle & the problem will go away. Just a different style of

throttle input.:thumb:

Am using the Repsol oil now... Great!

:bouncefire:

The bike Accel from 0 - 160kmh really quick.

Especially roll on 6th gear from 100km to 160kmh.

U leave a lot of vehicals far, far behind.

Great for Low & Mid range.

Check with Nic on 1st gear usage when u go for ride...

He usually spent most of his 1st gear on one wheel.

Nothing strange about that:help:

Direction to 2nd Link Esso.

Go towards tuas immigration

Need Cash card for $0.50cents.

Go pass bridge(2nd link)

Malaysia custom. Passport with white imm card.

Next stop will be $1 rm toll. Cash, exact amount.

Short ride later... a few min.

Turn into 1st rest exit to esso.

Enjoy your Ride & Bike....:cheer:

The owner we do not know, but we did went down to take a look, Petrol Tank a few less than 3 points paint chip off, both side engine casing abit scratches due to normal drop of bike. There's alot on handlerbar vibrations, changing of gears kinda stiff ( Maybe engine oil never change or chain ) thats what i think. And lastly the exhaust on the left is kinda out of place. Looks abit bend outwards than the right exhaust, if you take a look from the rear.. But basically the bike is ok.

And they are looking at 9.3k for 38k plus mileage FU 5*** plate.
