Went to Mah yesterday, saw the AD3. Spoken to the sales guy, he said selling price tentatively around 12k-14k. Will be launching in Jan 2013.

He said there is a AD3 200cc and 300cc, not sure he is correct or not.

But by looking at the scooter, I think it is Kymco Downtown 300i engine including the exhaust pipe.

Unlike Piaggio MP3, the front wheels are not lockable, that means need to put down the legs when stopped.

The scooter is very heavy. Big windshield (not need to buy the side deflector separately. )

There is a additional front glove compartment. The rear box looks the same. 2 USB plug at the existing model's fuel cap location. Not sure where is the fuel cap for this model? Probably under the seat.

Thanks for the update. Guess front wheels not lockable feature is a let down. Heavy rain means our feet will get soak still

I didn't paid particular attention on the audio head unit slot, I think it still there.

any idea what is the size of the integrated top-box?

seem to suggest for rain duty but where is the much needed abs or maybe traction control for wet days.....

it seems that abs has become mandatory for europe...could be wrong though

MP3 riders regard their 3rd wheel as the best reason they bought their bike so likewise I can't think of any good reason to dismiss it just because of the lack of ABS.

 

Besides, the price point now is at 12-13k. If you throw in ABS and jack up the price it may cut off some potential buyers? The marketing dept sets a budget after reviewing the market segment and every cost falls into place after that. Unless ABS prices have come down significantly it would be difficult to add it in this package without breaking the bank.

 

Don't you agree with me? So i think now we can enjoy the long awaited AD3 and hope that by the time "AD3.5" comes out it will have ABS. ^_^

Actually I was quite dissappointed initially that the AD3 does not have a hydraulic stand up function like the MP3 but I think with the hydraulic problems that MP3 users face maybe just as well that it's eliminated altogether.

 

I read on Modernvespa that Some have problems with the lock and Some do not. So it's a hit or miss thing.

if i am the marketing, ABS could be made option-able, so i can access to more potential buyer(s) both favorable and non....to ABS....

you want , you pay,simple...

 

i'll be worried with the hydraulics too...IF,it is already conclusive, that MP3's supplier are also adopted by Adiva and problems are not due to untrained maintenance...

 

What is the size of the topbox?

Yes I think you have made a good point there, but to me its not a deal breaker. The size of the boot should be the same as the AD2 which i don't know specifically. But the older one like mine is 80litres according to wiki.

Had a closer look, all side pockets disappeared, no more speaker compartment, no more radio slot. Only a big glove compartment added at the central..

Hi Ben, same price. 12.xk OTR based on $1933.00 COE. If COE drop, the price will adjust accordingly.

That means the machine price set at $9500, OTR price depends on COE & Insurance.

Just sold my AD200, going to miss it and the weather forecast going to be wet for the next few days

The AD3 delivery might be delay to April...

 

Btw, Mah has 2-3 units of used AD200, their dealer Nan Wah Motor at AMK Ind Pk 1, blk 4021 has 1 unit also. May be can check with them.
