Hi Sirs,

would like to apologize before if this question has been asked before

i need advice on buying hdb season parking

i live with my friend who owns HDB unit, and i'm planning to buy a bike.

is there going to be any problem when i purchase the season parking?

because the HDB is under his name and the bike is under my name.

what are the requirements needed to purchase season parking?

i'm really sorry for the stupid question as I'm new to this stuff.

thanks

Hmm... based on my experience...

1. Is your bike's (LTA records) and your IC's registered address reflects your friend's house address? If yes, then shldnt be a problem unless your friend also owns a bike. Then HDB takes it as applying for a 2nd season parking which in turn depends on the availability of the lots.

2. If bike's records or your IC reflected address differs from your friend's house, then you gotto wait till after 25th of that month (if i'm not wrong) to apply. Reason, HDB will need to see if there's still available lots for you. Anything before 25th is dedicated for HDB owners.

3. If you manage to get a lot, suggest you pay your parking fees via GIRO. This will in turn secures a lot for your bike every month.

Hope this helps....

thanks faisal for your informations, have some other questions if you don't mind

I haven't bought any bike yet :p

but I'm an SPASS holder and the address in the IC is different, it's the office's address.

so my question: when i bought the bike, and register in LTA, i should use the home address which is my friend's address, is it correct?

so that means the registered address in LTA would be my friend's address, and that shouldn't be a problem when i purchase the season parking right? but does my friend need to make notification letter or something? because I'm not the HDB owner.

he doesn't own a bike or a car,

thanks again

Erm.. when you purchase a bike, LTA will need your original ID or IC for verification and transferring of ownership. This means the address that is reflected on your ID will be used. In this case, would be your office address. I'm not quite sure if you can use a seperate address though. This one u gotto check with LTA.
