Hi,

 

Anyone here has fixed a metal bracket on their 52L Givi box to prevent theft?

I need to know where to fix it asap.

Pls provide the address and price.

This morning when i went to my bike, saw the rear box was opened and i know siao liao.

 

WTF, 2 brand New MHR Full face and a brand new OGK raincoat MIA liao... SIANZ

Sorry to hear that...fellow nighthawker. My neighbours bike got worse....

all cables on bike kannar cut by some nad fugs

 

Anyway, so far only saw those made from Seng Kwang ...nice finishing and looks secure.

looks like there is no competition

cost is ard 40 bucks... rather ex if u ask mi since my box is 2nd hand

my givi bracket looks old liao especially the grey part where it holds the box....i wonder if its possible to respray the bracket using those grey spray on paint? will it peel off after awhile or will it look ugly? need comments...thanks

no one? or how much does it cost for a new pair of givi brackets for vtec 1? and anyone knows how to fix the brackets? can the tools that came wif the bike be used to diy?

I think that if use long period of time. the plastic that clip(the centre portion) get weaker. Thief can use spanner to go inbetween the gaps and force it open.

Seng Kwang will customerize the the centre plastic portion to metal so cannot use spanner. I also interested, but will be better if cheaper around $30. Have u get quotation yet?? if u interested then we do together see if cheaper or not??

wat was the amt quoted??$40??if it's solid..i think it's money well spent though..

but with a metal plate on a plastic box..wouldn't it look weird??

n also..the rest of the box r still plastic made..if the thief dun pry the lock area..he pry the side area..will it be LPPL??haha..btw..anyone done it b4??can take a picture n post it here for us to c??..i would be interested if i get a new box..wouldn't be in the near future though..maybe a couple of mths

No point to fix additional locks.. Most likely to invite more curious thieves only.. Thats what i think..

Advise, bring ur new helmets home, dun keep anything else valuable lo.. For jackets, bo pian.. cos now raining season..

And one more thing, new givi boxes, i find them too soft...

Those old types on ah pek bikes.. their build damn tough one leh..

with bums and scratches are fine..cos going to stick my own stickers on it anyway...

so that i can still squeeze through traffic in singapore yet travel light when touring.

yes itz not very nice to see a shiny chrome plate on a dull black box

itz juz a plate to cover up the clip so there is no space for any spanner to pry it open

 

only seen installed on the old maxia 50L box

40 bucks to me is damn ex

 

let us noe if u can find a cheaper alternative

buy hepco becker box ah..stainless steel rack...better quality box...comes with 2 locks..& the carryin handle can use bicycle chain 2 wrap ard...thief c oso sian....
