Wats Oil Seal?

bearing round round like mini dounut ... direct from the box

hammer into rim .. still must put oil seal ? ..

After inserted the bearings next is to insert the oil seal...the black rubber "dounut"..without this "rubber dounut" water get into the bearings during the rain or when u wash ur bike..

if anyone wants to change oil seals when they change bearings, they can go to FJT to purchase the oil seals cos its way cheaper. I think 10 bucks for a set of either front or back. Thats what I did. I bought those and I went to my mech and change bearings. They shouldnt charge extra because they are already dismantling the bearings so its just a case of replacing the oil seals. If wanna do this, let the bikeshop earn the bearings lah, give and take. Give them some business :)

There are cheap bearings and there are good bearings. Price difference can be nearly double. Also, dust seals for different bikes have different prices. Unless you know exactly what bearings were used and what were replaced, it is unfair to say you got fleeced.

There is no such thing as "standard" price.

If you really want to be sure, DIY. This ensures no one is hammering away on those delicate bearings and causing damage to the hubs.

Bought my rear wheel bearings at KS for Suzuki Impulse 400c for $28 total 3 bearings (1 big and 2 small) and change at Unique Motor while replacing my tires, UM did not charge any workmanshipp since they are taking out the rim to change tires.

Water resistant sealed bearings (SUS bearings) would not require seals. But normal bearings may corrode due to prolong contact with rainwater and other stuffs resulting in faster wear and tear hence a seal may be needed.

Also sealed bearings do not need additional lubrication as they are maintenance free and have been pre-lubricated.

Sealed bearing need oil seal meh? Tot it sealed? Evry thing in one donut each side. So need only change 2 per wheel only lah......
