How to make claim in this incident?

Hi Peeps,

 

I was involved in as accident on the 16/10/2010 between 9.30-10.00 am on CTE.

 

What happened was it was a normal day with good traffic flow like any other Saturday while I was traveling at about 30-40km from AMK towards Town. The incident happened at just before the PIE exit at the overhead bridge.

 

I was checking my blindspot on the left before turning my view back to the front only to realise there was a cab stationary right infront of me. There is no car in front of the cab and before I check my blindspot, the cab wasn't in my lane in the first place.

 

So before I have the time to finish my prayers I slam myself onto the cab bumper and smash the rear windscreen of the cab and roll to the left of the taxi groaning in agony for a good 2-5 mins before taking out my helmet.

 

There was this nice lady doctor who stop by and give me medical attention while waiting for the ambulance to arrive. She assure that I will be fine after checking on me and left when the ambulance was about to reach. Thank You Dr Ng for your kind assistance.

 

Meanwhile, there was a passenger on the cab who was equally nice to give me some water of her own while I waited under the scorching sun for the ambulance to arrive.I manage to get hold of her no. and she said she was willing to be my witness for the incident as I ask her on why the cab stop in the middle of the road and was there any cars in front when he stop right in the middle of CTE. Her reply was that she have no idea why the cab come to a standstill. However she have did say there in no car in front of the cab when it stop.

 

So with that piece of infomation I was pretty sure the cab uncle was doing something else when he decide to stop in the middle of CTE. And with that I was send to the hospital. I suspect he forget to put the cash card into the IU and stop in the middle to put it in.

 

I got to say I was lucky to walk away with only 8 stiches and multiple cuts and bruise. Even though I had to be on clutches for the time being, its a blessing none of my bones is fractured. And so I was discharged with 10 Days of MC.

 

Once I reach home, I called the lady passenger witness with regards to the incident to express my gratitude to her. However this time she told me she was on her iphone when it happened and she is unclear of what has happened. Obviously she was under influence to change her statment. I do hope if you are reading this, there is an innocent guy here who had to be out of work for 10 days or even more due to some reckless driving from the cab.

 

Meanwhile, I will deeply appreciate if there in any witness of the incident willing to come up to tell the truth so that we can bring such reckless driving to an end by giving the deserved punishment for the cabbie.

 

At the same time, useful suggestion on how to do the claim and procedure will be appreciated as well.

is either he forgot put cashcard or he is trying to claim ppl insurance using dirty tatics. because bang behind mostly is behind fault

Its a blue WR400. Hope some kind soul will come out to witness thar cab change lane n stop abruptly.

there got some construction work going on right? maybe u could try and ask the workers there if they saw?

I fail to see why it's "obvious" that "she was under influence to change her statement". Sounds more like conjecture and speculation to me.

That doesn't sound like a clever way to deal with a witness whose help you might need.

its not uncommon for witness to change their mind. imagine she go home, tell her parents and husband. den all say why she so kay poh, ask her not to invite trouble etc. so she decided not to play good person. and since TS is okay, not say die or wat, she will not feel guilty or something.

 

thats my view la. of course, TS can find from police the exact steps the witness has to go thru. den try to psycho witness lor.

ive seen cars screeching to a halt just b4 passing the ERP gantry cos definitely they had forgotten to insert their cashcard..probably that was what happened to the cabby.i doubt TP will not press charges against u but the least u can do is squeeze some $$ from the cabby's insurers.he has to bear liability, though not on a full scale.try asking the construction workers who were near the accident area, call up the woman passenger again (ask her nicely)..lots of prayers

but his accident happened at that area arnd 9 plus 10am that area also no erp yet so dont know why cabby stop.
