maybe it is POSSIBLE that the bikes are here to "share" your super bright light? 1. they can see further ahead and 2. easier to be spotted by other vehicles in such light conditions

Possible. Ever once i hit a pitch black road in sg. Infront got a car, so i tailgate him (just behind, car's right) to be able to see infront. Otherwise my shitty lights can't shine anything at all.

23/12/2012 - 29/12/2012 phuket trip baby!!!!

wahhhhhhhhh! upthere upthere, 6 days includes going to phuket??

Posted

Day 1: set off in the morning, reach Sadao (Msia-Thai Border) late nite, stayed overnite. Avg speed about 100kmh, after KL area, avg speed abt 60kmh, due to heavy rain. About 12h riding.

Day 2: set off about in the morning, reach Phuket 10pm, about 12h ride, avg speed about 70kmh-80kmh, raining time, 40kmh-50kmh, wahlau, nite time riding with wet road conditions and heavy rain very stressful. Not for the faint of heart, made us wanna give up. Then after looking around, found cheap pangkeng 700Baht/nite(peak period rates).

Day 3: R&R, went to bike workshop, change EO.

Day 4: set off at 12pm. Ride to Hatyai. Reach abt 10pm. Went a longer route, but not much hilly n cornering roads, mostly straights and gentle bends.

Day 5: R&R in Hatyai.

Day 6: Ride back to Sg. Left at checkout time. Really took our time coz wanna take pix along the way. reach Woodlands abt 4am.

My Friends all laugh at my Phantom say i courting death, but i am gonna take a picture with my phantom at patong beach and slap them in the face with it. Anyone willing to go together? Hello guys. You all seem to be very experienced. Has anyone done a solo to Desaru? I plan to go there

With my wife riding pillion. Would like to know if the roads are safe. I'm on a Phantom of course. Should I carry spare engine oil and spark plugs? Any advice is appreciated. I've never taken my bike beyond

Singapore boundaries. Thanks in advance.

PS. If any experienced brudders would like to organize a group ride to Desaru count me in.

i did a trip to kl with pillion and full box plus one bagpack. desaru is much nearer. nsh is good to ride. just rmb to keep to left most lane cuz phantom cant go more than 120kmh. or rather not recommended.

things you should do:

plan yr route well including rest stops

-know yr fuel consumption & tank range

stop every hour or so at rest stops to let the engine cool down cuz ta200 not meant for prolonged high speed riding

-stop at the larger rest stops to ensure safety

rest for u and pillion

-know yr own ability. how long can u tahan riding. consider yr fatigue from holding throttle

good if u can print google maps

-rough guide not 100% accurate

get a touch and go card if u going through 2nd link

-just top up 10rm will do. total cost 20rm

gauge the time you'll take

-for u maybe 2-3 hrs depending on rest time and total distance

get yr bike checked at a workshop before going to ensure mechanical reliability

-change engine oil and spark plug also

-keep the old spark plug as spare

-check and change tyres if needed

-check throttle and clutch cable to see if worn. old alr buy 1 spare to bring. clutch cable most impt

try not to ride at night or early morning cuz phantom headlight cmi even when new

things you should bring

1) water

2) light snacks

3) bicycle hook

4) cable tie

5) 1 bottle good engine oil. no need to bring too many. if u know how u can change it just before u start on the return trip. but anyway desaru quite near so up to u

6) spark plug

7) some chain lube

8) bike toolkit

9) torchlight

10) yr luggage

11) money. put 2 separate wallet 1 for kopi money 1 for yr expenses

12) spare clutch cable if u bought

13) contact numbers of towing services like bikebulance or malaysia tow. can search the forum to find

14) milk container or smth like tt to store spare petrol in case anything halfway run out. rmb to empty it before crossing sg custom

15) raincoat. weather is erratic

16) touch and go card. can buy on the msia side

as for tyre repair kit its abit no point cuz they dont include the air canister to inflate. unless u can find one with it then buy and bring

thats about all. have a good trip :)
