For that matter,i've checked with Mah.According to them, they have some parts cos coincidentally, this Tiger shares some similar components to other triple models.Order will take about a week or 2 if parts are not available.Had my seat changed cos there's a slight/very tiny tear on e sides and i got e replacement in a week.Other triple owners can prolly share their experience.Me newbie:angel:

I've never own a beemer before although i would like to, someday:angel:. As my Tiger is brand new, I've never really done any major maintenance except for EO & oil filter replacement. Scheduled service(valve check etc) is every 10k mileage according to the handbook but i doubt everyone follows that especially after e 1st 10k mileage. Triumph's engine has been known for reliability and they don't lose their character like an engine from Bologna (no offence) does if valve check is not done. Spoke to a couple of owners about this. I would prolly think owning a Triumph would not be as high cost as owning a beemer ( if servicing is done at PML ). If it's your daily ride,

Simple bike = low maintenance

Unique bike = scheduled maintenance

Exclusive bike = high maintenance

That's just my view. Both companies manufacture unique engines and they are full of character. End of e day, you choose a ride that suits most of your riding needs and wallet capacity:thumb:

Being e 1st also means braving myself for what's gonna happen to my tiger in e near future. I really hope all my read ups, asking around and my technical knowledge helps in countering all e possible problems my bike might face. Btw, taming it is a problem:angel:

Collected my bike 4 days ago.So far e seat n posture is very comfy.Bars are are easy to reach.Handling is very neutral and well balanced.e tyres that e bike came with are Pirelli Scorpion Trail. It grips e road like a road biased tyre.I'm actually quite surprised but e highlight of it all is e engine.Torque is available off e throttle especially 3k rpm onwards. This thing just invites u to play.I'm trying to find e negative point about this bike still cos i'm sure there is.Bike is still running in and at this point in time,i'm getting 5L/100km consistently.I ride below 5k rpm as e manual stated. Will update u guys again in a few days time.Btw i wonder who are e other 2 Tiger riders??

Correction.Only 2 Tiger 800 and an XC came to SG.Both road version sold.Left with e pearl white XC in e showroom.Got my accessories about 2 weeks after i bought e bike. After riding this bike really close to 2000km,i noticed another thing which is not really to my liking. The 2 pot caliper don't provide enough initial bite during braking.Like i said,it's just OK for normal street riding.I'm a lil aggressive at times so prolly a new set of EBC/Brembo pads should do the trick. As to why i don't opt for a radial or larger master cylinder is because e handguards are designed to be attached to e master cylinder, hence e pads upgrade.

Get a testride on both bikes. From there you'll know which one you like.Of course you pay more for e Bavarian machine. Both has it's own pros n cons.Reliability, service intervals, parts price, support, performance, comfort, bhp, torque, luggage, tank range etc.Look into everything and decide on 1 which suits you best. Both are great bikes with unique engines.

You either go English or German.Got more moolah,go Italian.Cheers bro:thumb:

It'll be best if you check with Mah Motor.I've never heard of them providing test ride for the two wheelers they're selling.Only knew about PML and Harley Davidson.

Congrats on ur new purchase. The new Tigers are gorgeous bikes.the other triples like the 1050 and Speed/Street are already rare on s'pore roads let alone this one. they are made to rival the bmw's parallel twins. got thumbs up for them.torquey, more muscle, capable off road etc.only a bit heavier than the beemers. i found youtube vids on these Tigers by those motor-siao brits of MCN ,comparing them with the bmw respectively.enjoy

Finally managed a day trip on my Tiger 800 but before i set off, i increased e rear preload as recommended by e manual to accomodate e panniers and my pillion. I rode to Desaru via e E22 Senai-Pasir Gudang-Desaru highway and exited Ulu Tiram after realising that e bridge had been closed for re-laying of e tarmac. Weather was absolutely perfect e entire morning although somewhere around noon i got caught by a passing cloud.*

Set off from GP Esso at 0735hrs and i headed straight to Desaru for bfast. As i made a no of stops for picture taking, i arrived at Desaru around 1020hrs. From there, i made my way north to Tg Balau. That's where most ppl flock to for picnics on Sundays. e place is happening. There's a row of stalls and road/off road carpark by e beach. e road from Desaru to Tg Balau was quite short but it was fun. All kinds of road appear before me and e scenic surrouding never once bore me. e Tiger is surprisingly easy to manouver with e weight of e panniers n pillion. Prolly due to e weight, e initial bite of e brake was lacking. Seat was pretty comfy for e first 300km but could be better with e Triumph original gel seat(",)

e roads i've ridden consisted of smooth/rough/bumpy surfaces with rather deep potholes at times but e Tiger tracked everything thrown at it well. I'm riding on 5th gear most of e time so there wasn't any need to drop a gear during overtaking. e Tiger was very smooth trundling along e trunk roads and even at high speeds, there was only mild vibrations felt at e bars, something which you hardly even feel when riding. Over at Tg Balau, i took my Tiger offroad with my pillion onboard. I actually rode on e sandy and mildly muddy tracks near e beach. It wasn't really easy with pillion behind but it was fun manouvering e bike. One particular stretch of road somewhere near Tg Sedili had some cows by e road side so i had to ride slow... I got caught in a sudden rain while riding along Tg Sedili. Roads were slippery but my Tiger took it in his stride well at safe riding speeds of course. Wind buffeting were very minimal and most of it were deflected to my neck and above. I'm not particularly tall that's why...

My average F/C with everything loaded (panniers & pillion) *is 5.3L/100km. Speaking of F/C, i'm getting 5.0L/100km for my daily rides in SG. F/C goes up to about 5.1-5.3L/100km for speeds between 120km/h-140km/h. Tried and tested. It's not as fuel efficient as BMW's F800GS but it's quite reasonable for an 800cc road/adventure bike.*

I'm really happy with my Tiger's performance so far. Hope it continues eating up e tarmac e way it's designed to... *I'll post more review when i ride up again.

:btw: how is it compare to ur previous TDM??

Looks : I find e Tiger sweeter but to each his own.

Engine : Despite being 100cc smaller,it's as torquey as a TDM but instead of e twin feel,i get e smooth torquey build up to e redline.

Handlebars : I don't get e kind of vibrations i got on a TDM so i feel more comfort cruising and blasting.

Handling : Compared to TDM's 18 inch front wheel,e Tiger is using 19 inch. Tiger feels very planted on e road. Manouvering is easier than e TDM prolly due to e weight distribution or chassis design.

Brakes : Both TDM n Tiger offer e same feel n bite on stock components.(i actually changed my TDM master cylinder to a radial one so it felt better after e upgrade)

Bike's weight : Tiger 210kg fully wet while TDM 223kg (no idea whether dry or fully wet)

Stock windshield : Both offer almost e same amount of wind protection if not e Tiger is slightly better.

Top Speed : TDM win hands down.My speedo reads 221km/h at top gear while e Tiger manages 209km/h. However, Tiger feels more comfy cruising at speeds below 190km/h.

Suspension : As always, Triumph got e settings perfectly set up for e road and a plus point would be e inverted forks as compared to e telescopic forks on a TDM.

Stock lightings : Tiger is significantly brighter than e TDM but got no hazard like like e TDM.

Seat : Both bikes offer e same amount of comfort although e TDM is slightly better for long haul trips exceeding 300km.Maybe bcos e Tiger's seat is still new n have not really bedded in yet...

Tyres : Tiger originally comes with dual purpose tyre in e form of e Pirelli Scorpion Trail while e TDM comes with road tyres. Some TDM owners do fit a dual purpose tyres but personally,it's not recommended as TDM is a pure semi faired road bike made for burning e highways. My 2 cents.

Digital dash : Tiger win hands down. It's incomparable! I think even e newest TDM don't offer that much info on e dash display.

This comparison is based on my experience with both bikes. Both has it's pros n cons. Both are good bikes. At e end of e day, it comes down to your personal preference. Cheers!

Wanted to try a dual purpose bike tis time..
