Better don't. Get the license first and then get a bike.

Reason: The temptation to ride the bike is very very high. If nothing happens, its alright. BUT if you get involve in an accident, no insurance will cover you. These things do happen from time to time again and again.

Hey guys, Im new to this forum. I would like to know whether i can own a bike under my name, but I have no license and Im underaged. So i can buy a bike but i just cannot ride it right?

you can, but bike have the be layed up. No insurance, no road tax, you cannot ride the bike. if you have the slightest temptation to ride it, PLS DO NOT buy it.

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

Basically, you are screwed.

Laying up a bike just sucks anyway since you don't have a license!

Get a license then enjoy the ride!

get charged, go court, pay fine, maybe go jail, all depend on what offence they charge u with. i think the min charge is barred from riding for x year + hefty fine. worth it? u tell me. better off taking public transport.

edit: although i understand sometimes a good deal is hard to past by, however since u're underage and wont be riding anytime soon, why not wait till u can get a lic.

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?

my advice is dont even surf sbf to curb up your temptation on bikes.

Well, might be better if TS surf the SBF forum threads more, on the rules, regulations and consequences of his question.

This question was asked and threads created more then a hundred times on this forum.

No point getting a bike if you can't ride it. While you are waiting to get your licence the bike is depreciating, parts are wearing and rusting away, road tax must be paid, COE is running out. Even if you miss out on a good deal you might get an even better one later.
