I have them both. Prefers X-11, fits my head better, finds it more stable at speed. Noiser with all the vents open, but ear plugs makes long ride bearable. :thumb:

Hi jleo,

Expect maintainance at every 10,000km as according to manual.

It depends whats the condition of your bike and how much work u have to do up to its best. Reccomendations to have parts replaced before it fails u. Things to look out for would be the 1) Hall sensor 2) Alternator Belt 3) Brake Hoses

The rest it all depends on the condition and the history of the bike's maintainance at the agent.

Its an excellent bike to ride. 2nd hand can get u at a market price of between $18.5k - $20k depending on condition again....

Many on sale nowadays... look out! cheers.

A really long way round

By: Bernard Deane-Armstrong

A Japanese husband and wife on a round-the-world bike trip reached Boxhill, Surrey, on Sunday – he on a 1bhp electric scooter and she on a Majesty 250.

Electric scooter rider Kanichi Fujiwara can only reach a top speed of 30kmh and his Yamaha Passola has only enough battery power for 40km before a recharge. The ride is going to take three years to complete.

Wife Hiroko carries six spare batteries and the bulk of their kit on her step-thru.

Their route is designed to take in ‘interesting trees’ along the way.

The bemused bikers of Box Hill wished them luck as the duo headed off for the next stage of their epic journey – en route to a 1500 year old tree near Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

Check on their progress here (external site, mostly in Japanese!)

But if I got money in the bank, kids school fees stashed, sponsorship, don't need to work......... http://www.riderforums.com/images/smilies/blahblah.gif ( => excuses, excuses, excuses )..... why not :thumb:

How abt, with whatever change we have in our pockets or savings account, we go to one place. Then get a temp job, build up funds, then go on to the next destination, and so on. That way, we'll be able to fund our own journey and at the same time experience local culture by mixing, working and socialising with the locals. In my opinion, it's not really a question of funding or sponsorhip or whether we can afford to drop everything we have in our life now and do this. It's more a question of will, and courage. I, as of now, is just a simple case of having no guts.....yet.
