Are you sure about tt?

Seem like the pain never stop leh, it's like chain reaction, one after another for the past 7yrs in my ownership.

To stop the pain, get a new bike, ride it for 1yr and sell it within their "warranty period", don't hv too much feeling for it. If you want to keep it, then you hv to prepare for it.

Above advise is applicable for all makes and not just subject to BMW bike, after all, BMW bike repair / maintenance cost is just "PEANUT" compare to some other ang mo bike.

This is BRITTEN, their technology is 10yrs or more from their time, interested, READ THIS, BRITTEN

Since his tragic early death from cancer in 1995, John Britten has deservedly taken his place as an original New Zealand hero. He was the man who, with a small dedicated team in Christchurch, designed and built from scratch the extraordinary Britten V-twin motorcycle. For a time this beautiful, revolutionary machine was probably the fastest four-stroke bike in the world, a motorcycle that could wheel stand at 150 miles per hour simply by opening up the throttle.

Very interesting for Honda San, but think he is abit behind time this time.

This is BMW's own R1. A project actually never realised on production. It had an aluminum twinspar frame, and used the tele/para-lever suspension systems.

http://www.steliosh.net/moto/gs1100/images/r1_engine.jpg

The engine was a 1000cc flat twin, watercooled too, and with DOHC on each side. It used a desmo system on the valvetrain.

http://www.steliosh.net/moto/gs1100/images/r1_racing_test.jpg

It was caught testing, but it really never got a 2nd thought to get into production.

ON-ROAD CONCLUSIONS

Well done everyone ...

Okay, let me say that all these bikes work very well on the road.

The Caponord and Tiger are about equal in their abilities to happily eat up the miles and keep you entertained in the twisty bits. However, there’s no getting around the fact that the ‘Nord is quirky, and the Tiger doesn’t like it so much when pavement irregularities show up. It can also be argued that the Tiger’s motor is a bit too linear, thus lacking a bit of character.

Talking of character, this is where the KTM excels. As soon as you hit the more interesting roads, laughing-out-loud-in-your-helmet moments are easily achieved. However, getting to these interesting roads can be painful as this same character doesn't translate to the long haul.

The BMW has a capable foot in both worlds – able to pull grins in the twisties yet cruise along happily all day on the highway. With its superb suspension, torquey motor, and unyielding flexibility – it is the king of the road!

The writer actually think it this way. Wonder if KTM character is as strong as the Duck? Or both hv different character? Then who has a stronger character or character that will suit me?

Guess the best answer is to part with about S$30K +/- 10% OP and get the answer myself.

Me thinks the strong character should belong to the rider/owner and not the bike...... wait till he/she sees the maintenance bill...... http://urbanjunkie.macker.co.uk/smiles/drink.gif Yikes!!
